    480Z - cheap 2+2 build

My cheap EBay fuel pump has gone bad (surprise) and so I have not been driving the Z lately. I have an Airtex with a lifetime warranty picked out to get her back on the road. I have lost interest in the car again so may be going up for sale not sure.

  4. I bought a set of the "Mafia" flares back on May 11th and still haven't received any tracking info for shipping despite his claim that lead time on shipping was 1-2 weeks after the order was placed. I've emailed several times and each time I get the run around. Hoping I don't regret the purchase. I'll get back to you guys with fitment once they're finally actually delivered.

@theguppies got banned from Hybridz for not using a capital letter at the beginning of the sentence. First, he was suspended for 15 days and then banned indefinitely on the second time. He's a great guy and I hope he comes back someday. His last log in was July 9, 2013.

    2jzge swap in progress

have to agree with grannyknot, give the fabbing a chance. Plan a lot before doing any fabbing, grab some cardboard and make your first template see how it goes. Once you think you have all the issues solved transfer your template to metal.

    2jzge swap in progress

Keep your chin up, this is exactly where so many projects fail, on this forum alone there are hundreds guys who have been right where you are now. There are lots of project threads in the archives if you need a little inspiration, Mig welding is not that hard to learn but I would suggest you get a tank of Argon/Co2 and not go the fluxcore wire route. Think of the character building, good stories to tell at your first car show.

  12. Does someone know how to verify if a shock in blown. Recently swapped to coilovers and my pulled my Illuminas. One shock won't rebound when pressed in like the others. Pretty disappointed considering the whole setup maybe had less than 2k miles on it.

    Watanabes and big brakes

I am currently going through this, you will not clear with 16 inch watanabes if you use the TTT big brake kit. You need at least 10mm spacers in the front. You might have to shave the back end of the spokes if you don't want to run spacers. I am doing extended lugs and spacers. I had to run spacers in the back to clear the parking brake mod also. My rim specs are 16x9 -9 in front and 16x9 - 13 in rear iirc.

    Shakotan Z

Currently overseas with my day job, but a couple friends ended up hauling the z car to the painters place for final body work and paint. Also, ended up finding an arita speed front lower spoiler and OEM G-Nose hood hinges here in Japan.

    BMW swap rocker cover

Hi. I spent a LOT of time to get this just right....and then my S50B32 swap dropped out ! I didn't want to open my hood and see 'BMW' staring at me....my car is a Datsun, a Nissan so I looked, thought and figured I'd copy the LY head-look despite the induction and exhaust being reversed, it seemed kinda....right, a modern-day evocation. I'm pretty sure I got the typeface and size correct. US$400 which includes shipping.

    Camaro gas tank mount

I did the same thing. Going with an original tank now, but if I'd kept the camaro tank I'd just cut whatever you have just outside of where your tank straps/mounts are then weld that to new pieces that run side to side. Essentially you're just shortening the piece you already have mounted to the car then running it to new pieces that go side to side so any impacts don't instantly mess with your tank mounts and cause serous problems.

Which CV kits are best for an R200 240Z?

Any thoughts on the ttt stub axle eliminators? They don't say anything about axles on the website but if factory Nissan axles can be used that may be a cheaper setup. I keep thinking j30 5 bolt outputs on the diff and s15 axles with the ttt stub axle eliminators would be a good strong setup.
  21. Does the t\c rod intersect at the ball joint if you draw a straight line? I think that is the point you use for you bottom measurement. I wonder if there is a factory spindle that would reduce fabrication, the only front steer rear t\c rod spindle I can think of is a BMW e90 awd.

    1978 280z Part out

Hey guys. I'll be doing a swap on my datsun 280z 2+2 and parting out unneeded parts. For all parts purchaser is responsible for shipping. I'm always good to haggle a price but not "hey I've seen it here for x price can you match it." No offense to anyone I just would like to avoid those kinds of conversations. Thanks. Well without further ado; Used Aluminum Radiator. Fits a 1978 datsun 280z powered by a L28et. Some fins are a little bet but overall good condition. 100 or obo. Transmission from an 83 ZXT w/ 100k plus miles. Great for a rebuild or something to beat up some more. Shifted well. You can still get the driveshaft included. 600 or obo. Fuel tank from a 280z 2+2. Has moderate/ plenty of surface rust but is still solid. Just dont wanna give to scrap metal if I can find a good home. 100 or obo. The front driver seat and passenger seat from a 300zx plus rails. In great condition just need a cleaning. Rear seats just need cleaning as well. selling as a package to make space in my garage. (Seat belts are included) 400 or obo. P.s. in regards to the zxt manual transmission. I will be selling the full long block engine as well with full ECU and wiring harness intacted. I just need to take and post pictures I would like to sell as a package for a deal. P.P.S. I also have more pictures of each part if need be.
  24. My ls swap has been running now for about 3 years but when I originally mounted the camaro gas tank I did a very poor job and had the mounting rails running front to back. I am now going back and cutting out all the old and doing it right but I can't seem to find the posts on how others have done it. My plan is to have mounting rails run left to right made of 1x2 and then make a 2 piece clam shale to mount it. Both pieces will be made of 1x2 and then weld to the mounting rails. I would like to see how some other people have mounted theirs however before I do this.

I can't tell you exactly where they go but I can tell you basically what they do. The metal capillary tube goes in the evaporator. One wire is 12V from ignition and the other wire goes to the A/C compressor clutch.

Which CV kits are best for an R200 240Z?

Agreed.... DSS also bolts directly to the wheel side stub axle if you buy theirs but you will still need the adapter on the diff side. Moderns complete kit is hands down the top notch but itโ€™s really pricey. On the other hand you will get what you pay for.
