  1. Man, I miss having a Z. That's too bad about the rust. I never actually had any of the body panels off except for the hood. I'm glad it didn't get sent to the crusher.
  2. Hey all. I've been feeling all nostalgic and regretful... Anyone here still own HLS30-17955? I hope it's still alive somewhere. I forgot who bought it.
  3. Porsche 911 has 4 seats too. But that's not a sports car right?
  4. Why doesn't anyone just get what's available and have them painted or powdercoated to your liking? And besides... $750 for custom wheels? You could always pay triple and get them quickly elsewhere. Not to sound like a jerk.
  5. I don't think Dellorto stacks will fit Webers. Don't the Weber stacks sort of insert into the venturi?
  6. Are you running a return line? My Dell's will pour fuel out of the chokes without a return fuel line. The floats shouldn't be the problem if it's only pouring fuel from one choke. Maybe you have a vacuum leak on that cylinder. If you don't have a strong enough vacuum signal, the fuel won't be drawn down the intake.
  7. How's the sandbox treating you? Way to go, stepping up to take care of your family. Stay safe. Brian
  8. I thought Wilwood offers a parking brake option. It looks like a little secondary caliper. I think I saw it offered with the Subaru kit.
  9. Look on Eastwood's website. They have a general guide
  10. Had a chromoly one made for a Nova for about $250
  11. I thnk you should get some ROTA RBs, lower it a little and she'd be sweet. Very nice clean 280. I dig the color.
  12. And I've been a glazier since 1996. Oh, J. Soiluea, I was born in 1974!!! The safety glass you other guys saw being cut was laminated safety glass. Just two pieces of regular glass held together by a PVB inner layer. Yeah, I use denatured alcohol and fire to cut the inner layer. Really freaks out the customers! I would strongly recommend polycarbonate (lexan) over acrylic (plexiglass). Acrylic WILL shatter upon impact and you will never get a worse cut. The stuff could potentially kill you in an accident. Strong and sharp, not a good combination.
  13. I'm a glass guy. You absolutely CAN NOT cut the side windows or hatch glass. You can cut the windshield though. The windshield is laminated safety glass. The side windows are tempered glass. The glass is heat treated to strengthen it which changes it's molecular orientation. Therefore you cannot cut it. You can grind a little off of it, but rule of thumb is that you can only grind 1/2 the thickness of the glass. So that's about 3/32"... not much. If you don't believe me, you can try, but I guarantee that you will end up with a bunch of little cubes.
  14. I'm glad I asked first. Thanks for the input. Camber plates it is then.
  15. Here's something I've been thinking about for a while. MSA sells urethane upper strut mounts which just look like a block of polyurethane machined for a thrust bearing and the mounting studs. Has anyone seen of used these? It seems like you could remove the studs and machine some material off the top and reinstall them, thus lowering the ride height without reducing wheel travel. Has anyone done this?
  16. I have a Milwaukee polisher also, but it is HEAVY. The Makita one is a little lighter, but I can't remember if it has the variable trigger. I also have a Cyclo dual head random orbit which is awsome, but not so good for cutting.
  17. I'm using a Delta cam now. .500/292. It cost me $100.00 with no core charge. They also sell resurfaced rockers for $9.00 each. Good guys. So far I'm really happy. I'm also using Dellorto 40s
  18. Actually that was the original design for the Z. Someone at Nissan pissed off the designer, so he took his design to Toyota. I came across one in Maine once on the highway. He spanked my stock 240SX. Sounded very sweet.
  19. I had the twice pipes on my 71 and loved the way they sound. They were a PITA to install and did require welding. Any muffler shop should be able to do it no sweat. I didn't see any difference in torque, but they did get REALLY loud after a while, but they sounded sweet.
  20. Yeah, you don't need to sand through the clearcoat. Just degrease them and scuff them up. And what's with people owning Z cars also owning Subies?
  21. They look great. I can't wait to see them with tires on them. Keep us posted.
