  1. mopar 69, I am not using a "fuel cell" but a fuel tank made for a cj-5. I put in a early series cj-5 jeep plastic tank because I DIDN'T want to change the filler position. I am only running carbs so this tank is not made for fuel injection but you could probably get one for FI. The tank was only 125$ but I also bought the jeep skid plate to mount tank with. Check out my photo album. My only regrets so far is that I didn't take into consideration of going to FI later and if this tank would work. There is no baffling in the tank. The biggest pain in the ass is the vent tank on early Z's and making that work with the tank.
  2. Sounds like the preliminary info says my Kaminari spoiler might be worth something as far as aerodynamics. It seals tightly against the radiator core. Mine is not mounted yet if you need it for the next round, it's drilled and ready to mount!!!!! Great work guys! Maybe we can do some myth busting with engine mods under the same format. We could lease an engine dyno for a day and try different SU manifolds and headers and such and crunch the ######. I would donate to this too.
  3. Hey Monzter, those numbers are from a p-30 block at the rear wheels? Your making me feel better about working my l-24 if that is true. Anymore info on what you've done with that motor?
  4. Love the color. I guess i need to hang out at some dealerships to see some newer colors off of the Nissans. I'm not much on blue but that could change my mind. Great Work!
  5. Here is a better pic of the right side. there is obviously major work to run pipes like this, but i wanted to do it and I love doing fab work.
  6. Finally made some more headway on my twice pipes.

  8. Thanks Phil, that is some exciting news. I don't want to go coil over if i can help it since i have ST springs and new shocks. I might consider cutting my quarters for zgs though. That 245 fills to ZG's just fine in my opinion. Folks that go for the rota rbs(maybe me) will get another 1/4'' WITH THE -4 offset
  9. Hey Phil, I am rereading your posts and didn't see if you mentioned what suspension you are running . Stock springs?? Just trying to find out if the 245's would hit stock perches with the sportmax. thanks
  10. Found those on e-bay for 25$. They had excellent feedback and their prices are great.
  11. Well i hope these will look good. That was a tough decision. What do you think?
  12. That's one reason I didn't do my exhaust in SS. I wasn't sure what I was doing as far as welding SS and those SS pieces are to expensive to be screwing up. I just did mine in mild steel and later after i study and practice with SS I might duplicate my exhaust in SS. This exhaust stuff sure gets expensive quick. I've got 250$ in mine in mild steel so I figure it would be 500$ in SS. And I am running 12$ glasspacks . I guess dual exhaust makes it a little more $$$$$
  13. Dave, i can't quite picture what your saying ,maybe a pic would help. I run for CSX and for the most part I like the GMs the best . The sd 70's are pretty amazing , nothing fancy , just gets it done well.
  14. Damn I am having a hard time deciding which tips to get. I also can't believe how $$$$$$$$ some of these are. I am considering two sets of dual SS tips out the back--what do you think. I also wonder how restrictive the monza dual tips would be with built in resonators. I need to make up my mind so I can finish this up:confused2 :confused2
  15. pre 70's camaro but I think early 65 mustang would fit better
  16. Thanks John. Actually the exhaust will be removable . Someone showed me the bandclamps for exhaust and i will be using them to connect the rear section(behind the diff) to the front. I will also use the band clamps to connect to the header. Picked up my 12" glasspacks today. I wish i could have fitted longer ones but it's to tight in there. Now I need to decide what tips:?:
  17. Buy the insurance for 10$ and don't worry about it for a year or 2. I bought a heat gun for 10$ and another 10$ got 2 year warranty. Just take it back in an exchange it if you have any problems. I also just bought a 12" table disc sander for 100$. The thing weighs 85lbs and runs quiet. I bought the insurance for 10$ so I am covered for another year. I couldn't find anything that came close to that for that price though i know it's a cheap tool it will probably last me forever as much as i use it as a hobbyist. I bought the sander to do my exhaust system, what a life saver for making those angles.
  18. I thought of doing the flip filler door thing but wasn't sure about the support either. I didn't mind the side door anyway , I just wanted a fuel cell that sat centered so I could run dual exhaust so I did it with a cj-5 tank. It is one of the few tanks that actaully fill from the same side as the Z. The rear flip door would be cool and if you didn't need an actal fuel cell an early camaro fuel tank or mustang tank would work. The camaro tank is real low profile but wide.
