Do you think this motor can be intergrated into original 240Z wiring like the more popular Honda motor. I Iike the idea of a Lexus motor
  3. I have R100's in a 72 240Z. I just drilled a couple holes in the stock sliders and bam perfect
  4. Anyone one familiar with Speedhut gauges wiring on the 2JZ VVTI trying to hook up the tach. It looks like the wire I need to splice is missing or am I wrong. Also what type of adapter do I need for the oil pressure gauge
  5. Grant car show swap meat $40 steal https://youtu.be/2eFIreTdQGI

  7. Time for a little update been a while needless to say I did need a new engine after all so my journey began with that in mind I started weighing my options turns out to get the kind of power that I wanted out of a three liter I would have spent a little bit under what I've spent so far. My first thought for a swap was VQ didn't want to do that because it's a v6 although the weight balance would have been great its non turbo. The next obvious option what is of course the almighty RB26. Way too expensive along the way of the build and serviceable parts are not readily available gotta order them from Japan not cool. So I must search for shops to do the swap someone talked me into a 2JZ. So that's the direction I went I am so glad I did parts are easy to get astronomical power potential and more reliable https://youtu.be/P9eX1QA8JR0
  8. Bump had one shop lost it so now looking again some one PLEASE help
  9. I have a question where did you tap into for your 12 volt Hotwire? Can I wire all of them together into one source what do they all need to have their own source. I have empty space on a painless wiring fuse box should I just tap into that also what wire did you tap into for your light source. I'm a Complete noob at wiring
  10. yeah that roll bar definitely needs a base even if you sandwiched two pieces of plate steel to spread out the force. If mine was striped all the way I would replace my frame rails with 2x4 steel front to back. I may do something like that and cut some in half length wise to box in the frame. I had a shop do my swap for me so I had to pony up some dough. I'm in the swap for about 12k. if you can do all the work yourself you can do it for about 8-10k depending on how much you get your engine for, and your transmission choice, by the way the manual trans will be considerably more than the auto that will most likely come with the engine. I went with the auto because it's like a 3-6 k difference. but remember it's all the little unexpected stuff that add's up. so plan EVERYTHING before you start the better you plan and research beforehand the more $$$ you'll save in the end. My shop is really good and threw a lot of things in there on their dime I wasn't expecting it's taking for ever it'll be worth the wait
  11. I think the RB has cooling issues at the back of the engines like the L series that's one of the reason's I chose the 2JZ. I was talked out of the RB and into the 2JZ I'm glad I did.
  12. Thanks man you have a better start than I did because you have your structure strengthened mine is still bone stock, engine went a couple months after I got it and I convinced my wife it was better to do a swap LOL it worked. I still have to iron out all my strucure supports
  13. Good luck your'e off to a great start. that's a great engine choice. I should have mine back home soon to enjoy. here's an inspiration video of my first start
  14. Hey bro my name is Jamahl I have a 72 240Z with a 2JZ swap I bought my set of guages from their Amazon site. but I don't have the car and didn't realize the Tach & Speedo were the wrong size until now and it's been about 7 months since I purchased them. I have the 3.375 and they're way too small. is there any thing that can be done? or do I have to sell the ones i have and buy the correct size. Also is the correct size 4" or 4.5" thanks for your help
