  1. Ok guys, I've got my turbo swap running well (83 L28ET into a 1975 280Z) and everything works except for my coolant temp gauge. Right now I have the coolant temp sending unit hooked up to one of the wires in the L28ET harness and the yellow wire from the stock gauge running to the yellow wire in the L28ET harness. The coolant sending unit is brand new, and I know the wire running to the gauge has continuity because the gauge will max out if I ground the wire. Any ideas? I hate driving it much until I know that it's not running hot. Thanks! Matt
  2. So the MSD wire set that you used is 31233? They look a lot better routed that way.
  3. Looking for a driver's side rear view mirror with base and metal support plate for a 280Z. Anyone have one lying around? Thanks, Matt
  4. Hey there I was wondering if you found a solution to your injectors not firing while cranking. I have the same problem with my L28ET swap, I haven't posted on it yet but I saw your thread and thought I would ask.

  5. Was that a custom mix on your paint? Or do you have a paint code for it? It looks awesome! Matt
  6. Hey all, I've got a 1977 280Z that i've swapped a 1983ZXT L28ET into. I do not have a history of the motor to know if it was running well or not before it was pulled. I'm using the motor, harness, ecu, afm all from the same donor car. Engine starts and idles (poorly) but wants to die when I rev it. I'm really busy with work right now so a local mechanic who has worked on old datsuns looked at it and told me it needs a new ECU, AFM, TPS, and part of the harness replaced. I wouldn't be surprised about the AFM, TPS, and harness - but how do I know if the ECU is bad? The green light flashes at the appropriate times, and since it starts I had assumed that it was good. Is there any way of testing it before I go out and try to find another one? Thanks! Matt
  7. Got the L28ET in and running, '83 into a 1977 280Z. Can I just cut the mess of wires from the 280Z engine harness that went to the old coil? Thanks! Matt
  8. Ok, I put a christmas tree light on an injector connector and it flashes when cranking, so I think most of the injectors are stuck shut.
  9. ECU has a green light Injectors have power to them. Coil has power to it. Thanks!
  10. Hey guys, i've swapped a 1983 L28ET into my 77 280Z. Car cranks but doesn't start. I know I have fuel pressure at the rail but after cranking the plugs are still dry and no smell of gas, so i think my injectors aren't firing. I want to check continuity from the coil to the ECU - is it pin 5 of the turbo ecu that goes through the tach to the coil? Thanks!
  11. Hey all, I bought a project car that was mid-swap. 1977 280Z swapping in a 1983 L28ET. While i'm getting all of the wiring hooked up, I came across a couple of wires I can't figure out. They come off the same section of wiring as the alternator. One looks like a ground, but I can't figure out what the other 3 wires are. They are the 2 green wires on the left and the wire with the bullet connector in this pic. Anyone know?
