  1. I should have known it required money.
  2. Why cant I post an add in classifieds? I have been a member here for years. I have made plenty of relevant posts.
  3. Was up in Harrisburg PA over the weekend and Spotted a yellow 240z ,sounded like it had the factory L6 in it. It was south of Harrisburg but headed North/East on the Interstate. Is this fellow a member on here? It was definitely cool and it was the first running driving 240z I have ever seen! I think this was on interstate 81.
  4. So you have an fs5w71b? Im not sure how you stripped out the plug, its not impossible to remove anything. If you have stripped out the 1/2" hole, the maybe you can try the old hammer and chisel method. Make sure the chisel is dull so it doesnt shave off any metal. You could fill through the speedo cog if you can figure out a way to keep the fluid in there while you put the cog back in. You will also have to find something that fits snug into the cog hole so the fluid doesnt run out while you are filling it. There is also the option of removing the tranny and working on it. You could take it out fix all your uh ohs, re install and then fill it. As far as you stripping out the reverse switch get a pipe wrench and use another length of pipe on the wrench so you can get soem good leverage, I guarantee you 100% that the switch will come out. Above all have patience, if you get into a project like this and things go the wrong way simply walk away gather yourself and come back with a free mind. It also helps sometimes to invite a friend to come help, turn on some music and grab a few and I stress a few cold beers and make it a learning experience. Good luck!!!
  5. What type of fuel pump are you running and whats the output pressure of the pump before it gets to the regulator? I would go ahead and source the stainless parts needed to finish what you already have,it would make more sense to not make more work for yourself.
  6. for a true 4200 watt amp you would need a 420 amp alternator just to run the amplifier. glws
  7. That is a boost controller, for the r33. The radio is in the center where it should be.
  8. ok well i can see the confusion here, one could assume that when your talking z cars and the "26" more common than not its an L26. and gorilla snot is RTV, if you mean some other type of sealer such as kawasaki bond, threebond or any other casehalve sealant you should probably specify so if your going to give advice, you wouldnt want your friends using "gorilla snot" on a high dollar imported engine now would you? just because nissan uses sealant for water pumps doesnt mean its the best thing to use, after all i think we can all agree that the quality of todays vehicles has been declining steadily over the last 30 years or so. Just because nissan uses a bonding adhesive to put their pumps on doesnt mean itmakes servicingthe water pump user friendly, it just means they have a robot installing a water pump vs a japanese man that woudl have installed the l26 water pump with a GASKET back in the day. so you tell him, goop, your mysterious "other sealant", or a gasket. if you guess the right ansswer maybe we will pat you on the back PAT, or we could give you a gold star!!!
  9. looks cool!!! you have your work cut out for you but you can do it!!! you should drop the i phone and you would have enough money to restore the thing.
  10. seriously???? what the heck man, poor advice. stop by the parts house and pick up a 1.99 gasket for gods sake. get the right gasket nissan part number 21014-21000, http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsuns30/DatsunFairladyZIndex/Engine240Z260Z/WaterPumpFan/tabid/1591/Default.aspx might be the same as L20B, or you could take pats advice and gum up your coolant passages with rtv!!! hooray!!!
  11. hey guys im looking for a running and driving 240z or 260Z non-project car, i need this car to be a good representation of an original, obviously im not gonna find a perfect car but i want something i can buy, and drive around in while doing simple mods and so i can have a datto to drive daily while i restore my 620 for my son. It needs to have a nice interior, a nice healthy engine, and standrad shift. I dont care too much on color as long as it is one color!!! I am looking to spend 4,000 to 6,000$ so i figure i should be able to get a really solid great daily driving z. please no v8 swapped cars, hacked up cars, or rusted out clunkers. good tires is a plus and good tires on aftermarket wheels is better. thanks for any help!!!
