  1. I found a site that sells the Cobra GT3 seats that even uses an S30 as the example picture
  2. The 5 speed that's currently in your 260z will not bolt up to the RB25/26 if that's what you're asking. This thread might help you in picking a transmission http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/71608-let-us-kill-the-rb26-mated-to-rb25-tranny-questions/
  3. http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/15914/10002/-1 This one is cheap. It's highly rated. If you want a name brand, there is one that Holley makes for about 50 dollars more. http://www.jegs.com/i/Holley/510/12-802-1/10002/-1 It's a low pressure pump that will just run and continually re-fill your surge tank. Nothing fancy. Spend more money to have it be more quiet.
  4. But a differential also splits the power to two sides, where as the front pinion will be seeing all of the torque coming from the transmission. I would love for someone to try this out and see how much modification is required to make them work.
  5. There's one at LKQ-Keystone- Southern California in Sante-Fe Springs according to car-part.com It's from an 06, so you'd be running 3.55, but it's going for $310, which is a steal as far as I'm concerned. It does have 119K miles on it, but hey, it's something.
  6. Why do you want to mount such a narrow tire on a wheel that wide?
  7. With the S54 you'll have a problem with the oil pan right away. Then when you get it mounted, you'll need a very custom driveshaft that allows for fore and aft play as the Getreg that connects to it uses a rubber donut (guibo) instead of a slip yoke. You'll also have to run a custom ECU, or look into seeing if the stock unit can be modified to delete EWS, which is some programming that immobilizes the engine unless the VIN matched key is plugged into the BMW tumbler which sends a signal to the VIN matched ECU. You wouldn't be the first one to do this however, and there's a lot of good info on this guys build thread: http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/139679
  8. have any pictures of the interior and door panels?
  9. Those are real seats. I'm pretty sure they are physically in our current plane of existence. Did Nismo make those seats though? Probably not. They are definitely not an OEM offering on any car Nissan ever let NISMO modify. Depending on the price though, they might be comfortable seats and could totally be worth it.
  10. Pardon my ignorance, but couldn't you just put the driveside R32 mount on the passenger side and vice versa? Or would that move it even further forward?
  11. Mercedes has something very similar that they are putting on their new inline-6 that they're coming out with as well. http://blog.caranddriver.com/new-mercedes-inline-six-will-have-mild-hybrid-as-standard/ The one system pretty much deletes all belt driven accessories.
  12. Do you have a budget? Because without that, anything we say other than "You don't need an engine swap to make 200hp" isn't going to do much good.
  13. If you're looking for an NA inline-6, I think the 2JZ-DE out of a Lexus would be easier and cheaper to obtain. As it was availible in the US, parts for it are probably easier/cheaper to get as well. ...of course you could always go the German route like a crazy person...
  14. Unless you're just looking for used ones to save money, the places to go seem to be https://technotoytuning.com/nissan/260z/5-lug-front-hubs-datsun-260z-and-280z Here and http://www.silverminemotors.com/featured/5-lug-front-hubs-for-240z-260z-280z-cnc-aluminum Here I havn't had any personal interaction with TTT, but I ordered some stub axles from Silvermine. They delivered them in a reasonable amount of time.
  15. The Z31 front hubs won't work for you?
  16. Using many many seconds of googling, I was able to come up with this. http://www.abc-clutch.com/products/1-2JZ-BMW-gearbox-adapter-KIT Getreg made both the V160 in the Toyota and the 420G in the BMW, so it makes sense that they're pretty similar. I'm sure there's other adapter kits out there as well. Those transmissions are going for about 1500-2000 in the greater Northeast. I'm sure someone on craigslist would sell you one for cheaper.
  17. The V160 transmission is the more expensive part of the engine/trans combo though. Yes, the 2JZgte is the better engine due to the additional oil squirters, but the 2JZge engine isn't a pile. Yes, you'll have to source aftermarket turbo exhaust manifold, or weld one up yourself, but good power can be made out of them. It really all depends on what level you're aiming for. If you can find a GTE however that is a good price for you, but doesn't have a transmission, I'd look into getting an adapter plate and just use the E46 BMW M3 transmission as it's nearly the exact same one.
  18. That is fantastic. Now all you need is another 14 years to get it running right
  19. What do you want to run? It might be easier starting there instead of someone throwing out a ton of wheel options that are totally dependent on backspace and tiresize and if you're gonna run spacers or not.
  20. Meh, all those issues with the S52 and S54 have fixes for them. The connecting rod bearing issue was only on early early models of the E46 M3 and was a factory warranty issue. The only really crappy issue I know of is the high pressure fuel pump on the N54/55. I don't believe BMW has ever addressed that issue even to this day. But overall I will agree that "German reliability" is the greatest hoax ever pulled on the American consumer.
  21. While these part numbers are for a 240z, I do believe many of them crossover to the 280z. These are the OEM Nissan part numbers, so just find any place that sells Nissan parts. 22. If you're interested in doing that, I'd suggest starting by reading everything posted in this build thread before you start. http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/139679/bmw-m3-powered-240z You will absolutely need to be able to fabricate or be able to spec & acquire custom engine & transmission mounts, get a custom driveshaft that mounts to the BMW flexdisk and whatever diff you plan on running, and you'll also have to deal with BMW's anti-theft software in their ECU (so running a standalone ECU is probably going to be your best bet). It can be done, and as that build thread proves, it can be done cleanly. Just be ready for a lot of work. It will be very awesome if you pull it off though.
  23. A notoriously unreliable engine, that's never been imported in the US, with no spare parts at all, no support, and never been attempted before... I don't think I'd file that one under a really good idea. Also that 3750 pounds doesn't get you a transmission either. If you're looking for the highest horse n/a straight-6 240z build you can do, I'd probably go BMW instead. You'll end up saving thousands and tons of tons of time as someone's already done it before.
