  1. Gollum, I think I have to disagree. It isn't photoshopped at all. I think you're right, in that you can't match paint to a photograph too easily, but I don't think it's photoshopped. Not unless someone managed to surreptitiously photoshop every photo of this car on the interwebz and re-upload them under the noses of the universe-at-large. I agree, though. Gorgeous car. Ford has a blue very similar to it. It's one of my favorites.
  2. Only now did it suddenly dawn on me the problem you pointed out, Wondersparrow. I'm now wondering if the brake pedal will clear my steering column with any difficulties. I'm suspecting I'm going to run into some problems there, since the pedal isn't curved in any way...I'll have to check on that in the morning.
  3. Well, my car's RHD, and is receiving a newer Toyota turbocharged engine (i.e., the turbo will be right in front of the cylinders), so this will, I hope, give me some much needed clearance. I'm hoping that I won't run into too many problems with clearance, especially with the transmission tunnel. It's wider on the passenger side, and as the factory clutch pedal is part of the same box that the brake pedal is in, I'll have to replace both. Unfortunately, the Wilwood piece isn't tilted at the bottom to account for this as the factory pedal is. Hurdle number one, I suppose. I'll be starting on it soon. I have to get a few things done for work, but hopefully I can start making templates for the new firewall plate to mount the pedals to.
  4. Sure thing. I'm not going to be using the stock booster, since the two cylinders will sit too close together. The setup will require both a new brake pedal as well as a new clutch pedal, as the factory pedal box contains those two pedals and will have to be deleted. My biggest concern at this point is that the floorpan and trans tunnel may interfere with these pedals, since they don't have bends as the factory ones do. I may be able to compensate by moving them around a bit though. I'll be sure to take lots of pics as I go.
  5. Well, I got a few things, and decided to write up an update. I moved the car home, finally. I haven't done much, but I managed to get my hands on a Marushin Shoukai spoiler (or a knockoff...don't know, don't care. it's the look i wanted). I haven't got pictures yet, but I'm working on it. I went today and bought a Wilwood twin brake cylinder pedal and a brake cylinder today. I've decided to run a twin cylinder setup with Wilwood four pot calipers on the front and likely single piston calipers on the rear. It's faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrr more than I'll ever need, but hey, it's a money pit. Might as well do it up. I'm working on my 7MGTE swap, and I've decided to run the engine using a Megasquirt of some sort. I'm going to do all of the work myself, from building the cage (if it gets one) all the way down to painting the car. Anywho, so there it is. Here's a picture of my newly acquired loot:
  6. ...but I like them. Wilwood twin master cylinder pedal and one wilwood 7/8s cylinder. I need to buy one more. I'm going to run twin cylinders on my Z, with wilwood calipers. Just thought I'd share. Thoughts?
  7. Interestingly enough, my Honda Del Sol's muffler was missing altogether when i got it... I suppose it's the new fad?!
  8. Not to be a prat, but the 5.3 isn't actually an LS1... I've strongly considered the V8 route, but the thing about it for me is that the car's a rotary. They're hard enough to find, and even harder to find in good condition like mine. I'd like to just run the rotary till it gives up, and THEN maybe put a 1UZ in it or something like that. As it is, the injectors are giving me fits. I'm pretty sure the secondaries are stuck open. I gotta say, though. That engine fits like a glove!
  9. Ha, I already knew that. It was a joke. The mental image of three suited gentlemen peeking around a tree was intended to be amusing.
  10. A guy I know here spotted it one day north of where I live. I got it from an old lady. She bought the car new in '86. Five speed TurboII. She put 107K miles on it, and said that her arthritis started to bother her, so she stopped driving it. It was last registered in 2004, and was kept in a garage from that point on. She had apparently brought it out for some cleaning or some such, and found that it wouldn't start again. She sold it to me for 100 bucks, stipulating that I should take care of it. Heh. Insta-sold. So here it is. I'm narrowing down the problems that the car has. I'm suspecting the injectors are clogged, so I'm gonna send those off for cleaning in a week or so. I could, but I find that the more I tinker with it, the more I like it. And then there's this: Naturally, I am required by the laws of nature to keep it.
  11. Yep, a hundred bucks. It's in pretty good shape. Absolutely no rust anywhere on the car. It was garage kept, according to the P.O. She was 65 years old and bought it new in '86 because she thought it was "cute". Five speed, obviously babied. I'm slowly narrowing down my problems. Found a badly out of adjustment TPS just a few minutes ago.
  12. I'd throw my vote in on an FC RX7. They're interesting. I just picked one up and I'm having a lot of fun tearing into that thing. It's wierd, but fun, if a bit expensive.
