  1. Hey all, Located in Norfolk VA and need some body work done to the 240z along with paint. Just looking to see if anyone has any recommendations for the local area. Wanting to know if there is anything reputable around before I look into making the trek to Mananas to Datsun Spirit. Thanks!
  2. Looked on the old ebay and actually found a replacement hazard switch for the 73 240z. I ordered that and it should be here by friday, hopefully it will work. I took this thing apart today and there is actually a light bulb in there. Thanks everyone!
  3. Thanks for the reply actually not a bad idea. The hazards wont really be used on this car anyways (ie not a daily driver, fun weekend car/track toy) Ill have to start looking around for junkyard 73s or start searching around online.
  4. If you look at the second picture with the three holes the wire with the clip on the right side is attached to the cig lighter thing. The hole on the left is where the hazard push pull switch was attached but was ripped out. I pulled on it just a little too hard...
  5. I have been reading through the site and stumbled upon a couple of different posts with fixes to the hazard switch that ruins the rest of the electrical system. Just some background, I have a 73 z and recently the hazard push pull switch on the dash was pulled out and something behind the dash broke. As a result all of my lights stopped working. I know that as soon as the hazard switch died the turn signals stopped as well. I have read through these two posts http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/57428-hazard-switchturn-signal-system/ https://fiddlingwithzcars.wordpress.com/2013/01/20/hazard-switch-brake-light-turn-signal-circuit-analysis/ I was considering using the fix of wiring in a new switch and relay from mcmaster carr. but I am having trouble locating a "switch" for my hazards. The pictures are what the hazard push pull switch was wired to. Not really sure what this thing is? It is attached to the cig lighter as well. Just need help figuring out how to fix this thing.
  6. Well I don't have the car yet but If I get it I will look and see if they are there and let you know. The car is a manual so it should come with the R-200, but since this is an open diff is it really worth it to replace the R-180 in my 240z? Can anybody else think of other parts that might be worth something. Im just trying to see how much money I could recover in buying and selling the car since I only want the engine and trans.
  7. I thought the 81 came with the R-200 with the 3.90 the same as the R-180 out of a 240z is there a big difference im missing here?
  8. Hey everyone I hope this is in the right place. I am looking into picking up a 81 280zx this weekend for dirt cheap, and I plan on taking the transmission block and head for my 73 240z. I was really just wondering if their is anything else of value in these cars, or stuff people are always looking for. Or just any other helpful knowledge. Thanks!
