  1. hello Z brothers... well im looking for some help. Ive looked and searched through hybridz for the turbo swap on 240z and found stuff but kinda confusing. I dont know if you guys can help me but im having some trouble on the wiring harness. Pretty much i got everything on the car and now im just trying to hook up the electrical stuff. Im having a lil problem with the fuel pump relay. Theres the Blue/Red wire, Black/White wire, and Green wire. How do i hook these wires up. Like i said ive seen most of the diagrams and posts theyve made on here but still cant get it. The fuel pump relay doesnt click i only here the EFI relay click. Where do i hook up the fuel pump to??? Car cranks but fuel pump doesnt turn on. I have installed a new MSD elect fuel and ran a wire direct to battery and it works. Somewhere ive done something wrong but i dont know what. I know you guys are doing turbo swap into 280zx N/A but maybe you guys can help me. Any help will be appricaited. Email me if you guys can help bre240z@aol.com. thanks guys.
  2. Guess what it was the reaction disk..... dam thanks to this site, i had been trying to troubleshoot this problem for the longest time. Sure enough when i took the m/c out and the shaft wala! that dam disk was gone. So i manage to take it out of the booster put lil bit of silicone to hold it in place reinstalled everything and bam now shes stops beautiful. Thanks guys.
  3. ok ive found some threads w/ similar prob that i have. The reaction disk in the booster maybe have fallen out. Ok now how to i check if its no there? And if it did fall off is it possible getting it out of the booster? How hard is it to see if its fallen out of place.
  4. no peddle feels the same even by pumping them several times. Its just very soft and sensitive. Dam im even thinking of going back to stock set up. I dont see any possible leaks anywhere. What im planning to do is replacing the master cylinder with a new 280zx, the booster...well i dont know if i have to re-adjust the shaft, and putting the stock 240z calipers back on rebuilt. What do u guys think??? thanks for the info
  5. hello my Z brothas. First of all i want to thank all these people on hybrid that have provided lots of helpful information on here. Good job guys. Anyway this is my problem. I have 1973 240z. This car sat for lilke 10-15 years before i bought it. So i bought it did turbo swap, suspension, ect... Well i did the 4runner caliper upgrade non vented, stock rotors, got the booster rebuilt @ napa, replaced wheel cylinders, got the msa steelbraided hoses all around and well the master cylinder i had the stock 240z one but swap and put i believe 280zx master. Heres the prob. The pedle is very sensitive and soft. Ive bled it several times and still the same thing. Its hard to explain exactly how the peddle feels all i can say is that its very sensitive and soft. I been driving the car like this for a while now but now ive had it. I want to fix this prob but dont know where the problem is at????? The car stops, there is a point where the peddle stops and if i have to stop fast then i have to push on the brake really hard for it to stop completely. I dont know if when i took the booster i had to adjust the shaft a certain way before installing it back. Alot of people have told me it can be the porpotioning valve but i dont know. I really need help on how i should run this 4 piston 4runner caliper set up. 1) can i use the stock 240z master cylinder? 2) should booster shaft be adjusted certain way? 3) Do drums brakes have anything to do with my prob? not adjusted right? 4) Should i go back to the stock 240z calipers? Any info or tips would help guys. you can email me @ bre240z@aol.com. thanks jimmy
  6. im already using 280z mustache bar, and the rear transverse link the curved one.... i shaved off some of the fins from the cover. now what if i was to change the cover to a regular r200 diff non finned, will that make the diff move backwards more???? i been told that the reason why i have to use the early 240z short drive shaft is beacuse im using the finned cover and i should swap the cover with a non finned cover from a regular r200. i really want to use the longer drive shaft they are easier to come by vs the short one. by the way thanks for the info u guys been giving me.
  7. im sorry but im not sure what the pinion flange is??? ive had the lsd diff on installed and everything i been running it like that. I just want to know y is the reason why i have to use the short drive shaft from early Z. i do have the finned cover which i had to shave some to fit it on there. I do have the rear transverse link that is curve and the 280z mustache bar on the car. The only thing is that im using 240z front mount and insulator....dont know if i should be using 280z mount and insulator. I just want to be able to use the later drive shaft 72-73 longer one because this is my third driveshaft that ive had to replace and these early 240z d/s are not easy to come by vs the longer 240z d/s i could find those anywhere. I hope u guys understand what im trying to get at here. Thanks a bunch for the info you guys are giving me.

Why Am I Only Able To Use The Early 240z Drive Shaft The Short One And Not Be Able To Use The Later 240z Drive Shat. Ive Gone Through 2 Drives Shafts And Everytime They Get Harder To Find. How Can I Make The Later 240z Drive Shaft To Fit???? Help Please

  11. Hello Guys.... Ok Im Gona Try To Explain My Problem As Simple As Possible. Here We Go. I Have 1973 240z W/ Complete L28et Swap. Everything Is Stock. I Just Got The Head (p90) Complete Rebuild. Replaced Timing Chain Complete Timing Chain Kit From Msa. So I Put Everything Back Together Started Up The Car And Ran Fine For That Night. Next Morning The Car Was Idleing Like A Dam Subaru And The Performance Was Not The Same. Found Out Injector #1 Started Leaking So I Checked The Rest Of The Injectors. As I Pulled Each Injector Pluged Idle Would Change Except For #4 Injector. So I Decided To Buy A Set Of New Injectors From Arizonazcar. Replaced Them Today Car Still Ran The Same And Idle Still Wouldnt Change As I Would Pull Injector Plug #4......also Pulled One By One Of The Spark Plug Cable And Ilde Changes Except On #4 Spark Plug Cable.whats Going On Here Guys? I Replaced Cap And Rotor, Fuel Filter, Spark Plugs And Cables Are Still Good. There Is Power On All The Injector Plugs. Before Replacing All This Including The Head And Timing Chain I Was Getting This Tapping Noise That Sounded Like If It Was Coming From The Head Almost Like Pinging.... Noise Is Still There Now. Why Doesnt Idle Change When I Pull Injector Plug Or Spark Plug Cable On #4???? Is That Y My Car Is Tapping And Making This Noise? What Do I Do To See If I Have Bad Piston? Checked Compresion On All Pistons Like 1 Week Before I Started Replacing Stuff And All Read The Same. Car Runs And Pulls But Not Like It Should. Help Please I Really Need Help On This Guys. Thanks

A Friend Did This Swap For Me But I Dont Talk To Him Anymore. He Might Of Use Diferent Hardness You Know Diferent Parts Diferent Years But Everything Is From A Turbo For Sure. 13. Ok I Have 240z L28et Im Running Regular Ngk's From Autozone Gaped @ .44 What They Recommend On Their Specifications...... Could That Be The Reason Why My Car Does Not Run Like It Should (rough Idle, Theres A Misfire At Iddle Sometimes @ Boost, Rpm Needles Jumps Around Sometimes??) Everything On My Z Is Stock L28et Swap. What Plugs Should I Go With And At What Gap Should I Set Them At ??? Thanks Guys
