  1. How long is a piece of string????? You need to tell us what the engine is and what mods if any it has? But 9" does sound very low at idle (depending on the Cam etc.)
  2. Its on the wrong side of the road :lol: (but not for me as I AM a Aussie)
  3. HI olie05 If you are just asking if you can use the same power source to power the relay coil, the simple answer is YES, it sounds like you have the basic idea and just wanted to check. This is a common practice:grin: Check out the 12v site http://www.the12volt.com/relays/relays.asp
  4. Thanks Doc, well said, enough fuel flow is the answer. and here is a link to Modding Holley Carbs for Alcohol:- http://www.hardtail.com/techtips/alcoholconversion.html
  5. Thanks for the reply, There is a spacer to increase the capacity of the float bowls But the static fuel hight would need t be set the same as this is what sets the fuel "tip in" and is well documented in the holley carburetor manuals. Just my 2¢ worth
  6. Why do you need to run alcohol at a different static fuel level? should it be higher or lower than gas?
  7. Why??? Just pull the sight plugs and adjust and your done, don't make life difficult for yourself:grin:
  8. In a word "No" it wont hurt, but WD40 isn't a long term lube:frown: so just lube really well with Molly Grease, and you should be ok for a few years, + depending if this is your daily driver or not (how many miles per year). I just used to spray on "Motorcycle Chain Lube" that has molly grease in it, this will penetrate into the bush, its great stuff. I did mine over 10 years ago and just pulled the car of the road for a complete rebuild and they were still greasy!!! And was driven about 5k per year. Also regular spraying WD40 would probably "wash out" the grease! The spray on Motorcycle Chain Lube works a bit like WD40, and the molly grease is carried in a solvent which allows the grease to get into the chain (bush) than the solvent evaporates leaving just the grease, its used by Moto-Crossers to keep the chains well lubed in all the dirt and mud etc
  9. Well done, you will love it I am sure, they are a true classic, and if built right, make a great daily driver or even a weekend warrior, I have had mine for 15 years, and I still love driving it. Its up for a complete rebuild.
  10. The bell housing should physically fit as the 4n is just a 3n with the extra O/D case bolted to the front! I do know that the lock up converter Solenoid is fitted to the bell housing and there are extra oil passages in there as well. And as for the power handling, it not really an issue as they can be built tough if you need to.
  11. Sorry to hear about you problem, what did you buy? and was it advertised on this board? I Have only had dealings with PayPal on ebay, They can do a "charge Back" if you used a credit card, I dont know about transfer from a bank acct. Good luck, and let us know how they help you, It could help others in the future.
  12. I Do like the blue ones :2thumbs::2thumbs: Here is the link to the "White Face Gauge Article" http://www.nk.ca/%7Ezcar/pages/articlepages/whiteface280zx.html Also not wanting to hijack this thread, but I am going to use the same printing process to make my own 260Z E/L gauge set, but I will be using clear sheet not White paper.
  13. I thought that early Z's were made from 22 gauge to save weight? This was one reason that they rust through so quickly!!!!
  14. By mistake I fitted the "Mustach Bar" backwards when I rebuilt the rear suspension, and I think there was about 2" gap between the standard Diff and the Bar, so you could try reversing the bar? I did this several years ago and I am working from memory so this may not help.
  15. Is there a reason you want to create a headache with no real gain? If you want a reliable daily driver, just do as ZcarNut suggested :- " I would think it would be easier for you to get a used ZX IF wiring harness rather than trying to get the Jeep one to work."
  16. They look like "Down Draft" copperaters, going by the Air Cleaners" or should that be Accleeners
