  1. I updated my last post with the only photos I have of the Hawks headers I had.

Well I should update this thread. The 240Z sold earlier this last spring with lots of spares. Went to two younger guys, I think its going to join the world of drifting.

I've moved over to what I consider the modern 240z, a Toyota 86 (aka Scion FRS)

...which I've spent two months this summer dropping a cam'd LS2 and T56 into. :)

I think you deserve your own thread, it has deviated a bit from the original poster and all. Let me know if you want assistance in copying posts and moving them over.

For the record well done. Testing and looking for faults BEFORE putting it out there while gathering feedback by public posting. At a good price point I'm sure you will have people very interested.

Though I like outside conversation, its a different design so I agree, it's enough of a deviation to go to its own thread if you could please.

    PM sent your way....

    PM replied.

  3. All of my original files that I can find are attached in the ZIP.

The bushings were converted and CNC'd by Regal CNC  in New Carsile Ohio, regalcnc.com, SUPER REASONABLE prices, especially one off jobs. Highly recommend hitting them up if you want more, since they already have the parts programmed.

If someone wants, they can buy this bracket and bushings from me for cost of shipping, plus cost of a case of beer or two. Its about $100 in materials, but just gathering dust in my garage now.

  4. Austin has all of the designs and measurements I have,

I'll reach back out to see if he's interested in finishing it without me. If not, I'd be interested in letting my parts and designs/measurements go for a very reasonable sum.

I'll be posting a rather lengthy rolling chassis for sale / part-out thread later tonight or some evening this week.

  5. I've given all of my measurements and designs to Austin Hoke, he's a bit backed up with working on his house, and he and his wife just had their second child.

But on sad note, I've actually given up on my Z car. I havent had it running in 4 years, I keep finding other things to fill my time.  I'm pulling the engine soon to sell the rolling chassis.

I'm curious as well, enquiring Minds need to know

After hearing about some failures with someone elses kit twisting Im working with a well known Z vendor and amazing engineer on some improvements the front mount. I'll let you know more when I have it.

In the down time, I ended up redoing half of my garage, had to level some concrete, raising the door, and put in a four post lift. Makes it real nice not working on my back on frigid concrete.

Hey Spitz, be careful who you share the designs with too, someone just got burned on something they came up with on one of the datsun facebook pages.

Hoping for 2018 front mount updates soon lol not like 2018 just started or anything....i swear i'm not eager haha

Woah, I'm on the v8 s30 group, was it there? what was it?

Also interested in updates. Am looking to do an 8.8 IRS into mine.

I sent off my revised design to the CNC shop this last week, hope to have new parts on hand end of next week.
From there I have a sheetmetal shop waiting to a final measurement on the front mount. Then its off to make a larger batch of them.

Any more updates on this axles hubs etc?

I'm not doing axles hubs etc. Theres many options and different price points depending on your needs. One guy on the v8 FB group reused the ford axels "Stock explorer axles cut down and resplined to fit 300zx TechnoTuning outer stubs" Which might be the cheapest option, I purchased the driveshaftshop's explorer to 930 cv adapters...

  8. Oh my guys, I'm sorry I'm a slacker here. I've been out touring Germany/Austria/Czech for just short of a month, and came back and have been too busy to keep rolling on the car.

I had a friend just last week laser out my front mount, I found one of my measurements off. It'll involve  scrapping the two bushing mounts I had CNC'd already. I should be able to get that squared away in the next two-three weeks.  I'll be out again for a week at september 15th hiking banff national park just west of Calgary, Canada.

  9. AWESOME!! Looking good man. Will this be offered raw or paint/powder coat option?

I had planned on doing all with black powder coat on cradle and front mount, but if someone wants raw I can probably put one aside. Eventually.

Glad you finally found a machine shop that wants to do the job. Custom auto shops aren't needed for the parts shown above.

Most any machine shop can do them and offer a timely delivery. If they can't, go somewhere else.

I tried a couple other waterjet/machine shops local as well, but each failed to produce a quote, or I was too small of quantity.

A friend recommended teamzmotorsports, and they were lowest price (still) and they were even going to do the powder coat. But its actually getting done now, so thats good.

    Its in there!

Hopefully Ill get this back in there soon, too:

  10. However, I still don't see how this will stay sealed.  The first blast off the line won't the bead of RTV touching the smooth surface of the sandwiched plate just tear apart - allowing fluid to leak through (granted it won't be a lot because it shouldnt be under any major pressure ever, but still will leak?  Or am I just overthinking it and RTV will be able to handle the stretch)

And my apologies again, but did you already show your plans for the front mount?  For this plate to work, the front mount will have to be bullet proof, correct?

Rough drawing of the Front mount is post 37 in this thread http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/125328-ford-88-irs-swap-v20/?p=1184915

I've already made some changes to it, but that'll be pretty close to it.

I was unsure about the sandwiched plate as well, but after talking to the owner at SelfMadeFab he said its something they've done previously without issue.

  11. I see a Morris Mini lurking in the background.

Its the wife's new car!  RHD Rover Mini. Imported from Japan, rust free and only 28000km on the odometer.  Picked it up for her on our 6 year anniversary, the "traditional" 6 year present is iron... so i went for old iron :)

  12. Very neat! Do you already have the front mount made?

I have it drawn up, but not cut, I wanted to get the rear in and bolted up first to double check my front mount location's height for driveline angle.

  13. any updates?

Just picked up the flat plate today from the plasma cutter. I had to run my drill press to clean up the bolt holes, but otherwise its a perfect fit so far.

I hope to get it bolted in this weekend to finish my front mount this upcoming week or two.

*Also thats my wife's classic mini cooper in the background, I just had it imported this April.

  14. Quick update. Dropped teamZmotorsports.

Working with selfmadefab.com just north of Dayton for the cradle, and a CNC shop in New Carlisle for the bushing mounts. Should have the bushing mounts in my hand by next week.

  15. I'm still around.   STILL WAITING ON teamzmotorsports.net

I've gone ahead and found another supplier for the CNC bushing mounts, here in Ohio, and at half the cost as team Z. However their flat plate cutting and powder coating was the best quote I had.
