  1. Quite a bit more research to start. -Figure out what you want to build a car for -figure out a realistic budget -find an engine that you "think" you can swap for half of said budget
  2. Ouch, pretty funny. After seeing him crap himself in the rx7, I have wished to see him freak out in a well sorted s30.
  3. On a recent trip to the Datsun show in Williams AZ, I logged 1000 miles. The first half I was going about 85-90 mph (got busy at work and couldn't leave early) and got 24 mpg. The second half I was able to cruise back home with the other club guys. The 1200 we were with had 12" wheels so we went the whole way at 65mph, that netted 33 mpg. This is on a high comp l28 with mikuni 40s, verified with GPS and an ohmmeter.
  4. "Ahead of schedule", I'm afraid I do not know what you mean. Next you're gonna tell me that you finished "under budget" as well. Back to reality, your car is beautiful.
  5. I have done many rb swaps in many different chassis, and it's always way more than you initially think. You either forget about things you need, have to fix worn/broken stuff you weren't expecting, or you get the "while I'm at it" bug. Take it from the guys who have done it, a proper rb car is really expensive.
  6. An RB swap usually costs twice what you thought it would.
  7. 1. I have the McKinney mounts on mine, but someone with the skill could easily fab up proper mounts. 2. A good driveshaft shop can do a proper job as long as you have the 25 trans slip yoke. 3. It can last if you drive with that intention, but hard launching and/or hard shifting can cause some serious damage.
