  1. Check out his distributor/magneto/fuel pump set up. Holy tubes batman. This is also the first SBC I have ever seen with 3 oil pumps
  2. I was doing a little digging on the internet for domestic flat plane cranks and I came across this: http://www.ferraris-online.com/pages/carintro.php?reqcardir=LL-332-BLANK A lola 332 with a flat plane SBC in it. I can't even imagine how fast this thing must be. Here is a picture of the 180 deg. crank used in this car. This crank is apparently made by Crower. Amazing. He says he only has a bit over $30,000 invested in engine parts.
  3. I am not 100% sure on this, but I believe that in CA you can only swap motor types that were offered originally for that model, ie you have a 6cyl mustang and want to put a v8 in it. I would look into the kit car laws and see what they say about smog. You may even want to start by going to your local ref and picking his brain.
  4. The torch is actually tig sized. The machine I have has a very nice water cooling system built in. Apparently they are very popular in the aerospace industry because they can weld all types of exotic metals. They also have the ability to weld very very thin materials. Like tin foil... My machine will only go up to about 1/8th inch. I payed $300 for it but now I don't know if I want to keep it or sell it and buy a new TIG.
  5. Jon, I know this is a bit of an old thread, but is there a chance you can post some pictures of the finished part. I would love to see it. Thanks, Mike
  6. Probably seen these before but they are 2 of my favorites.
  7. I just picked up a Linde PWM-9 plasma needle arc welder. It has all types of bells and whistles. I have no idea how to use it or if it is worth a damn. Anyone have any experience with these machines?
  8. His question has been answered and kindly pointed in the direction of the search function for future inquires. The thread is done, leave it be.
  9. Does anyone have any info on someone actually running a 180deg crank on a sbc?
  10. Take a look at these sweet little covers. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RED-Caliper-Covers-Set-Front-Rear-For-Honda-Toyota-Bmw_W0QQitemZ150122735115QQihZ005QQcategoryZ33563QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

  12. When the whole thing is over you will have to post up some pictures. Great work and good luck.

  16. Looks good, nice and clean. It looks factory. Now you just need to get rid of all those threaded stand offs, vacume holes and extra junk. See you in a few months
  17. Great, thanks for the info.
  18. Maybe I am not understading the problem correctly, but it looks like you could simply grind or machine off just the little outter lip on the bolt heads and be just fine...
  19. I have the same feelings about 2x3 tubing. I was going to use .065 or .083 if I can get it. I think that should be more than enough. What do you think?
  20. naaa a bulb is a buld. I like silverstars a bit blue but really more white
  21. wow, it must take a lot of force to flatten the angle like that
  22. hmm sounds like I need to find myself a pick-up
  23. I don't know if you can get in touch with them. But maybe you should call up the guys you got the heads from. Explain to them your piston troubles and ask them what they run with those heads. Its worth a shot.
