I notice many people who use 2x3 tubing lay it flat (2in high x 3 wide) I assume that this is to lessen the protursion through the floor, but wouldnt you actually want it the other way from a structural point of view? I imagine much more vertical load the horizontal.

you can paint it just be sure you use a galvanized metal primer

A little note about the wonderful state of CA. My understanding is that the state of California charges automotive aftermarket companies a good deal of money to get their parts CARB legalized and in return the state opens up the California market to the company. But if the state did not require everyone to be use only CARB legal parts the good people down at Edelbrock might not shell out the cash to the state and we don’t want that. So in the end I think it is a business decision on the states part to enforce the CARB laws on all cars so that they can maximize their market, charge the aftermarket companies out the a$$, who in turn can pass the expense on to use, the consumer. Environment be damned it’s about business... Sorry I got a bit carried away /end rant

Jon, im pretty sure you have talked about this before. But just to clear it up for me. Have you had any problems with the heims shifting in those slots? Or do they seem to stay put?

MONZTER, I have solidworks student edition which will do .STEP files. I just got a student license to pro e and should have the software sometime next week. I would love an opportunity to study some of your files. I will only be using the files to further my education. What is the advantage of a spherical bearing over a heim on the inner control arm pivot? A heim is essentially a monoball on bolt, no? Why not just used heims on both inner and outer ends?
