  1. I would like to see the Cary CAD visualization of this if its not too much trouble.
  2. SO true. I am actually in process of scaling back my project from the exotic extreme end back into something I can reasonably accomplish and learn from. It all starts with a good plan. Or as my old man would say "Remember the 7 p's. Proper prior planing prevents piss poor performance"
  3. I see. Does anyone know a good blaster in norther california?
  4. Are you saying you want to move the struts inboard? Generally Tires hit the struts first. It seems to me that if you were going to go through all the trouble of cutting everything out, moving it all inward and then having custom axles fabbed it would be about the same to go to solid axle (I assume this is a drag car). Actually if I wanted to build a big tire drag car I would skip that whole step and see if Stony's car is still for sale. Just my .02
  5. That is crazy look at all the smoke! But ahh... did anyone else notice the odd trail of brown smoke from Mexico? What the hell is that?
  6. I would do RWD, probably something fairly simple and home brew like this http://rides.webshots.com/album/134929361hUEpcw
  7. You see that? Looking on the bright side! lol
  8. Not the hybridz servers! Time to get to Dan's house and from a bucket line. They say 1 million have been evacuated. Including several of my family members and childhood friends.
  9. Please be careful how you post over there. I have seen some "post wars" start just like this.
  10. I really really want to build an ej-22 510. Once I finish my Z I am going to do it and shut up the nay-sayers
  11. The only thing I would worry about is it tipping towards the front of the motor. Im sure its pretty rear heavy but it looks like it could tip forward.
  12. perhaps I should have posted this in the paint and body section
  13. I second the forklift I will have to take a snap shot of my rotisserie, I built it about 8 years ago from extra material that was laying around. It is a bit overbuilt to say the least.
  14. Is there any advantage to slipping the bad dogs over the stockers other then saving the time to remove the originals?
  15. I took my car to have it acid dipped but the guy wont take it with any underbody coating or seam sealer on it. Which he will remove for $85 an hour... no thanks. So I took my car back home, put it on my rotisserie and started stripping off the under coating. But now in looking at it and thinking maybe I should do my fab work before I have the car dipped. So here is the question. Do I do the fab work (stitch welding, cage, shave lights, ect) then dip the car after to take care of surface rust and what not, or do I dip the car fist, prime it and then grind off the primer where needed? Or how would I keep the car from rusting after stripping while I work on it. Any advice is appreciated.
  16. You may not be able to run spacers but perhaps you could have someone like Modern Motorsports machine you a custom set of stub axles with an extra thick wheel mounting surface. Sorta like a stub axle with integrated wheel spacer. You may be money ahead to have a custom stub machined rather then designing a complete custom suspension or relocating the pick up points. Just a thought I wanted to throw out there. Good Luck
  17. There is no way I am going to sell the car. Funny thing it is still under construction and hasn't been on the road in a long time. I guess DMV is giving the air quality guys a mailing list.
  18. The reg is up next month on my 240. I got a letter yesterday from Bay Area Air Quality informing me that my reg is almost up and asking me to consider an alternative other then driving it. They gave me an offer of $650 for it or any car older then 1985 registered in my name. I guess if I want to see it I know that I have a buyer. Cool huh?
  19. Looks sweet except that second half pair of headlights in the bumper... Like one set isnt enough
