  1. Here's a good start: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/79806-rt260-bmw-m-powered/ DO IT NOW! Lol -Jose
  2. That's too much and not necessarily accurate.. The S13 community does these swaps left and right. Most of which are straight up drop-in and go. Aside from your typical fluids, belts, filters and spark plugs I would change the water pump and do a clutch job while the eng/trans is out and drop it in. The key is to find a low mileage engine being sold from a reputable shop. In the case of the OP being that he's in San Diego.... Try: http://www.pandagarage.com/products/engines.html Reputable shops will sell engine sets or clips ranging from ~$2000-$3000. You can find cheaper alternatives all day but then you'll be dealing with issues that logr speaks of. Good luck, Jose
  3. Is it necessary to remove the hood latch on the body? Once the engine is in it doesn't look like it would b in the way?
  4. Count me in! But what about the rears? I.e. if you wanted to use Z32 rears as well. ...and I haven't heard anyone mention a brake m/c-booster combo to go with them. Any suggestions? -Jose
  5. Yeah I'm currently working on Piaggio Avantis. I'm hoping to get to jump-seat on one of them one of these days but just working on them has been fun...... Back to the cars.... The subtlety (at least on the outside) of your Z has always been what I've loved the most; clean, nice drop, and some old school JDM wheels. And for some reason people tend not to like the old school colors like the yellow or the orange but your car is a perfect example of how bad-ass that yellow is. Keep up the good work! A 510 with AC would be sick! -Jose
  6. My wife is attending the doctorate program at UCSB. I live here and work at KCMA as an airplane tech. If the 510 has the same workmanship as the Z then I'm more than sure that it'll be ****! \edit\(rhymes with kits, lol)\end edit\ Care to share any of the future plans for it? -Jose
  7. Just picked up the issue yesterday..... awesome job! I had been following your build for a long time. I remember you having a website dedicated to it but I lost the link.... a lot of helpful info was on there. Anyway, congratulations once again... can't bee too shabby to share an issue with an 800HP AMS GTR! -Jose
  8. This should get you started: http://www.datfusion.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19&pid=131&st=0entry131 there's another thread on ratsun but you're going to have to look for it. basically the same as the link provided above just maybe some more info. good luck. -Jose
  9. A couple of questions... It seems as if someone were so inclined, that they could possibly make a custom mount for the AC compressor on the passenger side above the oil filter location. I know anything is possible with money... but realistically is there enough room to do this? Second, do you have any $$$ figures you can throw at us minus labor of course just parts. 1) Engine/Trans, wiring harness, ECU 2) Engine/Trans Mounts 3) Driveshaft Just looking for a ball park figure for cost in parts. Your swap and 240Hoke's swap are badass, simply amazing. Having that feel of a new engine in your car must be soooo awesome. Thanks in advance for the extra info. -Jose
  10. ^^Totally understandable. I wanted to boost a KA back when I was driving a 240sx coupe. I remember reading something about a Holset turbo setup on ka-t.org but I never got into it... so I was wondering how it worked out for you. Good luck on your racing events to come! -Jose
  11. Awesome swap!!... but how about some specs? injectors? turbo? engine management? An observation: the breather line on the valve cover going to the intake of the turbo looks like it would just make the turbo suck in oil. Love the swap, though. Its really cool when you can make some power with some ingenuity (sp?) and spare parts. Keep the pics, any videos coming. -Jose
  12. Didn't read through the whole thread... this might be some redundancy but... http://www.datsunzgarage.com/borg/index.htm That website has a lot of good info on it. Hope it helps. -Jose
  13. I'm located in SoCal, San Fernando Valley to be exact. I'm looking for a complete running L series engine (carbs and all). I can pick-up up to 150 miles from where I am. I have cash in hand. Let me know what you got. Thanks Jose 818-903-4482 josesalazar32@hotmail.com or PM me
  14. For more info on boosted KA's you guys should try http://www.ka-t.org -Jose
