  1. Boy, I feel like an a$$. I guess I totally came off the wrong way. VinhZXT- I can read the correspondence on hybridz, but I don't really know what is transpiring beyond that. I made a suggestion based off of 280Zone explaining that he is "considering this effort closed". I re-read this thread and again would like to apologize for the way I came across. My suggestion came from the acclaim from John's work/products and interest. I assumed that his abilities and experience might compliment this effort. It was not to make anyone look bad. I never expressed any mistrust/doubt in you. I am very sorry if that is what it seemed. I don't mind eating my words if I misspoke, which I did, I just don't want to be the bad guy. I can get very zealous about my interests and sometimes too hasty. Please let me assure you that I really meant no ill will and was/am trying to encourage avenues to help this project to fruition. I mentioned that I did not wish to speak on John's behalf, or anyone's but my own for that matter. I acknowledge now that if he had an interest in this, then he would have explained such and wish to not confuse this endeavor with any of his. Again, I just want to say that I am all for this project and applaud everyone's effort. V/R, Sam
  2. A quick note to say that I was a little misinformed in making my last post. 280Zone is doing an awesome thing for the s130 guys and I want to state that it was in no way my intention to cast doubt on his venture. He definitely knows what he is doing has a great thing going. I can't wait to get my hands on one. Sorry for putting my foot in my mouth. -Sam
  3. Awesome! 280Zone- I didn't want my posting to sound like pity for a failed effort, and most sincerely hope it did not. I give props to anyone that puts forth the effort like the one seen here. Maybe what I left out was that John Washington sounds like he has the facility and already make some awesome body kits and pieces for s30s and s130s. My suggestion was that if you have hit a bump with your current poc, then maybe someone should ask John. I would be happy to give him a call, but my reluctance lies in that my extent of involvement in this project is as a consumer/enthusiast. I would be more than happy to dedicate time to seeing this thing through, but I definitely do not have the finances to back it, even in part, or the skill to design or create.(kind of a fifth wheel) On a side note; I have actually entertained the thought of learning the art of FG fabrication and possibly getting a hobby shop on the side that caters to the hybridz community... LOL,....yeah...that's not gonna happen:icon10:. I hope that I have not spoken on John's behalf. I am simply trying to help in anyway I can. Projects like this motivate me, and if there is anyway I can provide assistance, please count me in. V/R, Sam samuel.nine@conus.army.mil sam9work@hotmail.com
  4. I don't know to laugh or cry. I decide to go with a g-nose and find this thread a week after it seems to have fallen through. Not to rub it in, but daily I am tickled to be living in AZ with the knowledge that this state seems to be an enormous hub for zcar enthusiast. Which brings me to my point; 280Zone, 007max, and John Washington, as well as many others, all appear to live in metro PHX and all have expressed an interest in getting g-noses in the hands of s130 owners. Might I suggest a collaboration? If this point has already been made, then I apologize. But, I for one would take a day off work in a heartbeat and drive three hours to Phoenix if it meant getting together with fellow z enthusiast at the very least.(not so much a following in the town I am in...) But, from what I have read recently, it would be awesome if we could get this going. It seems so close. Just my opinion for what it's worth. -Sam
  5. I have had that prob a few times. Last time it was bolt on the break pedal came out causing the trigger to stay up and the break lights to stay on. I doubt your are that lucky, so i would suggest lugging out the multimeter and checking to see what, if anything, is drawing power when the ignition is off. Could end up being just a grounded wire. Best of luck. Sam
  6. i am by no means an expert, are all the injectors stock and did you check ohms on them(about 2.5 - 3 on stock nissan injectors)? i would go part by part on the fuel system; injectors, regulator, filter, pump. then i would check timing and vacuum. Best of luck, sam
  7. Thanks everyone for your help. I sure feel like an a$$. I was playing with it again last night trying to get it to idle long enough to listed for which cylinders were backfireing and a 6" flame shot out of number 6 injector hole. I immediatly knew the problem. I pulled off the fuel rail and found that the o rings on the last 2 cylinders were binding and kept the last 3 injectors from completely seating. All the screws were in and snugged and to the naked eye everything looked right. But sure enough, after i replaced the o-rings and reseated the rail, it fired right up and purrs like a kitten. Thanks for the support, Sam PS I rechecked and do have 120psi on all 6.
  8. about 90 psi on all six if i remember. dont have a tester for fuel pressure, but checked the pump, filter, and visually inspected the flow at the rail(looked fine). haven't touched anything with timing since it ran, but will look tonight when i get bak and post when I get a chance. again, thanks for the response.
  9. i have had that problem with the distro before and did check it, but thank you for the suggestion.
  10. Hello Everyone, My name is Sam and this is my first post. Been reading the forums for 2 or 3 years and own 4 zcars. I read so many questions that are quicly responded by strong encouragement to run a search as the subject has allready been addressed, so i tried my best to do my homework. I have a stumper and have been browsing everyday after work for 2 weeks. All that being said..... HELP! Found a rough running 82 280zxt for $1000. Needed a harmonic balancer, an injecter for #2 cylinder, a MAF sensor and plugs. Replaced them all with the parts I had laying around. Now have backfire on 3 cylinders into the intake and it refuses to idle at all if I can even get it started. I checked; firing order, injector order, injectors, computer, MAF, EGR, distibutor, optical crank sensor in the ditro, relays, fuses, fusible links, compression, leak down, valves for sticking, radiator splint, flex compasitor, etc.. I am out of ideas. Any suggestions would greatly appriciated. Sam P.S. I even had a mobile mechanic come by, take my $50, then tell me he didn't know anything about Z cars and suggested I find someone that did.
  11. sorry, but your both wrong. am trying to combo an sr20 from a g20 and a tranny from a sentra(if they arent allready the same) and sqeeze them into something very unexpected.
  12. does anyone know if the transaxle out of a sentra is the same as the g20s? and are the half shafts the same length? am looking to do a sr20 motor swap and am trying to be inventive. Sam
