  1. Are there really any difference in the years between the cars? I've got an eye on a junk yard car that is an 81 turbo complete. Auto 500.00 and I can take the whole car. Is that a good price? Is there a difference where they mount the Crank Postion Sensor on the years? He said it was bad on the car. I thought they were mounted on the Trans for autos and on the Front crank for Manuals? I could be all wrong though! Differences on computers or electronics to look out for? Distributors?
  2. Yep, Very good advice. I will give it a shot!
  3. Thank you very much. This approach is exactly what I was looking for!
  4. But that is a good point. Any door sensors that draw if they go bad or inside lamps that may stick on? Could a bad voltage regulator cause this?
  5. 2 weeks ago I jumped in and the battery was dead, 73 240z. Charged it and no go. Took it back to walmart and it was determined there was a bad cell. Jumped in yesterday and dead as a door nail again. Something has to be on or shorted. Is the voltage regulator suppossed to click when you connect or disconnect the battery? Is that an indication something is on? Where do I start to look? Mechanically, I pretty good, but electronics I'm a novice.
  6. Okay, been 2 weeks since I replaced the battery. Jumped in and it was dead as a door nail. I mean, like only .5 volts. Obviously something is shorting or on. Where is the best place to start w/ the investigation? Mechanically, I fairly strong, electrically, I'm a novice.

2 degrees! Properly done, the more 'angles' that are cut into the valve seating surface, the better they flow - it eases the flow around the perimeter of the valve. 3 angle or 5 angle should seal equally well.
  8. Thanks Mike. I think I will be definitely using Luis. Very good price, very professional, nice work and a nice shop. I thought he said you sold him the 2JZ motor?
  9. Thanks for the advice! You've got me thinking maybe I should skip getting the car painted and instead of 1 case and 1 stripper, get 2 of each! THough my wife any day of the weak beats any stripper i've seen!
  10. Went and spoke w/ Fred at Harpers. He showed me some of their work. Looks realy nice. He said prices could range from 3500 - 12K.
  11. Just remember guys age has nothing to do with it. You guys have more information now then when I did when I was 18 when I bought my first Z car. I bought three after that. I took mine down to nothing sandblasted the whole thing and then sold it for 1K. Wish I still had that 1970 Z! Dooh!
  12. Jeff, Personal experience or just hear about them? Thanks, Jeff
  13. Can anyone recommend an Orlando Body shop that does good work and reasonably priced? My search here resulted in nothing.
  14. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=110023640383&ih=001&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT Just curious.
  15. To which Question. I found out my battery had a bad cell in it. Wal-mart special. Less than a year old replaced 100% for free!
  16. Also, do the Voltage regulators get warm to the touch at all when cranking or charging?
  17. When you remove or add power to the positive side of the battery is it normal for the voltage regulator to click once when added and once when removed? I just don't remember. Searching didnt' seem to help.
  18. Made from 77-83 in no LSD config? So would most NA 280zx have a R200? If not what other variation came in the 280zx and earlier 300zx?
  19. I did search: R200 Id, Differential Id, Rear end ID w/ no luck. Where are the numbers that tell you if it is a R200 located on the Rear end? Does it say R200 or imbedded in a number?

  21. Scottie, Went tonight to Speedworld 8/16 and didn't see a single Z, old school that is. Was it tonight? I didn't get there until 9PM. Where is SEZ?
  22. Is this something that even no donating members have access to see or is it going on ebay?
