  1. Great thread! I was just wondering what size braided line you were running for fuel? I seemed to have also missed what kind of pump you're using? Thanks!
  2. I didn't want to sell mine at all. I put something like 15k miles on her since I got her. Knew that bike like my own legs. Sure did make momma happy though telling her I sold it haha. I'm trying to make my 240 as light as I can without making radical changes. I'm gonna try finding an aftermarket heater and blower that's lighter than the crap they put in these things. I'm gonna save another 40lbs just taking off the PS and AC off the SR so that was pretty sweet. And then theres the 30 lb dash....... I'm thinking about making my own glass or carbon dash and using my new cover that the car came with as a mould. I've worked with carbon before and actually made a pretty decent seat from scratch for a completely different application...... That being said, I can't justify spending 450 bucks on the glass dash that that company sells. Not sure about the rest of the interior.....the vinyl doesn't weight much so I may replace that.....As for the skins.....I'm ditching the stock ones...too heavy, maybe I'll make my own down the road.... Then there's the steering column.... The seats, I got some grey market sparco's off Zilvia.net on a lucky find of a group buy so that was cool. less than 400 for the pair with rails...though I'm having doubts about the heavy steel rails haha Funny you mentioned the olive drab....I'm doing a camo green plasti-dip with a whole bunch of clearcoat on top
  3. Yeah I blame this all one one of them who got me and the other into this whole restoration craze... Here is one that the first roommate restored for a customer (yes he works on these for a living while he's in school)
  4. Gotcha. Curious cuz I'm putting an SR into mine. lol a little misunderstanding, I was asking about the look of the car like interior and such. I had an '07 600rr.... ("the white one" haha) I miss it. Had to sell to fund this project.
  5. Nice work bud Out of curiosity, why did you decide on the rb And I may have missed it in your first posts but are you going for factory stock look? PS I'm (or used to be) a cbr rider too
  6. Work has begun again! I have completely gutted the interior of the car and engine bay Hope to set in the new motor and trans in the next week Pictures to come!
  7. Yet another revival! I'm days away from mounting an sr20 into my 73 and I got a walbro inline, After reading all this, still not sure if I should get a helper pump like the carter mentioned by the OP, or should I get an entirely different pump?? I plan on using the stock tank since I already had it restored
  8. Just read through your whole thread, very inspiring! But....where are the updates?!
  9. Yeah I'm hoping to get pretty good mileage. Until then my daily driver is a lifted Tacoma on 35 inch muds
  10. Very nice, can I ask how you did your driveline?
  11. Hello everyone, Finally getting my 240 project moving. It's a 73, came with little interior, supposedly rebuilt L24, 5 Speed trans, I believe the original color to be orange, some rust spots but not too terrible. It had been sitting outside in someones yard in the mountains for some time as they attempted to restore it but didn't get far so their brother got a hold of it and he sold it to me... Came with a broken stub axle, so after swapping it out and messing with the SU's a bit, and having the gas tank restored, I was able to drive it around a couple times. I'll probably get some crap for this but I just don't like bothering with carbs, so I wanted to swap out the L with something injected and with more power potential (and less heavy)... I didn't want to put a small block in it as I feel like I'd be violating the car with an American engine. My dad had a spare 13b Mazda rotary in a crate, so I considered that for a time, but there was too much to source, and those parts don't seem to be too common... After that I considered a KA24 or an SR20... I found a deal that made adding a tubro to a KA not completely worth it, so I decided to go with an S13 SR20DET, and drop it in stock (for now)... Now you see it... Now you don't! My little helper Oh and did I mention that me and my 2 roommates are all doing restorations?.... Both Alfa Romeo GTV's The reddish one is swapping in a Mazda Miata engine and trans... not so much for power (obviously) but for better vehicle dynamics, as it sits lower and further back in the car than the original motor. Though he says he will later add a turbo The silver one is doing the Alfa "twin spark" motor which is supposed to be really good but I know nothing about it New motor, tranny, and mounts coming this thursday! Thanks for looking!
  12. Wow that was a nice vid I've been considering a 13b swap into my 240 as I already have a built NA sourced, but I'm still leaning towards the sr20 for the availability of parts, knowledge on the swap, turbo (I have a thing for turbos), and it being injected... Any thoughts?
