  1. it is all aluminum and that is the only intake that even remotely has a chance of fitting under the stock hood. I dont want a big hood scoop/bubble ruining the lines of that roadster body! and no I havent been to the shop yet....
  2. plan on hood clearance issues - that is the only reason I stayed with the Lincoln intake on the 4V motor I should be able to get the stock hood closed. worst case itll be spaced up an inch at the rear and that will help cooling immensely. I want to have the hood closed all the way though. the only issue right now is the inlet tube everything else is all the way under! I may shoot the ,mass air and tube straight over by the pass firewall and out into the dirty air behind the front tire. I want it to run out in front of the radiator if possible though. brave? nah just hard headed!
  3. the cage plans tie the main hoop to rocker bars that run the length of the car and tie into the front frame. also will tie in the trans tunnel(also a structural member). the strut towers are already reinforced front and rear. the weakest point on the car right now is the rockers/door openings plugs come out the top of the heads (4 valve heads) and the exhaust is easy to get to from the bottom.
  4. note to admin - cannot add links to outside photos with firefox browser like I said ill try to get better ones over the weekend
  5. ill try and get it back up on the rack this weekend for under carriage shots the motormount stands are hand made and the motor is solid mounted. the trans crossmember will be bolted through the frame connectors so it too is custom. I bought this car with the top removed and much of the frame work already started - I will be adding the roll bar back to the car soon to help tie it all together. I got 2 truckloads of parts along with it to get it back together. the motor is tight but not horrible - I am using log style manifolds for ease and my guess is the car will be quite deadly at 300 HP and 2000lbs. I have a 750 HP turbo mustang to get my straight line kicks, this thing needs to handle the twisties!
  6. you are using an all aluminum boat anchor? heh heh heh
  7. motor and trans are already in - they fit beautifully.... Made real engine stands off the frame rail(instead of the crossmember). The crank pulley is directly above the rack and pinion. Being the Lincioln motor, mine has the TB located at the back of the intake (can we say low profile?) I am using an AODE right now but have in the wings a 3650Tremec (out of a late Mach1), it might be too fun with the auto to mess with fabing up a clutch pedal.... this weeks project is running the COMPLETE Lincoln wiring harness and adapting it to run the Datsun lights etc. all Ford switches and electrics mean easy servicability with availiable parts pretty much anywhere in the country!
