  1. Hey Cody, glad to see the JWT system is doing good for ya. i actually really regret selling that unit. it worked so flawlessly for me. after doing both the SDS and JWT i'll go back to JWT next time. My new project is an 82 280zxt and i am shootinf for 11's on the stock turbo As far as my T5 experience goes, the only time i ever had a grinding problem was if i lift throttle shift. I never let off the throttle when i shift at the track, and i think that is the secret. on the other hand i always had trouble with clutches
  2. cool, then it looks like i will be able to pick up a T5 pretty cheap then. you guys must be making 500+ horsepower if you have T5 troubles. i cant find anything it wont handle. hundreds of drag launches never a problem. now my 1990 twin turbo on the other hand lasted only 5 passess before i lost second gear. must have been the weight of the 300zx. what clutch do you guys run?
  3. hmmm, anyone know of a conversion chart to convert 1/8 to 1/4. my best run at this little 1/8 mile hick track is 7.41@96mph. i am wondering what that would get me at a real track
  4. There is nothing NOTHING wrong with Felpro. Simply the best gasket you can use (save for the metal one). now if you had a Nissan gasket i would say that would be your problem. If you used a Victor, well you would not have made it out of the driveway
  5. Well i have not seen one pro to building a stroker. All that extra work and they just are not making any more power than what a bone stock block can handle. I put down 436 FT LB of torque to the wheels completely UNTUNED. Stock head, stock block, stock intake manifold, stock exhaust manifold. That was pushing 18psi. Now granted i am smart enough to through that Nissan headgasket in the trash and use a Felpro, but other than that we are talking stock. This motor has 145,000 miles on it too. That was a few years back, now i run 25psi completely untuned. Nothing more than seat of the pants tuning with the SDS. My solution for tuning? Nitrous!!! Now i run 25 psi (big hybrid turbo) and a 75hp shot of nitrous. All on a bone stock motor. Now tell me, if a stock motor can handle all this abuse. Why in the HELL would you change it????? Oh and guess what, i have yet to have a dampner problem since i shift at 6500 rpm

  7. Shop around, the MSD pump is $75.00 from Summitt racing. Great pump too, i run 2 of them.
  8. I did not mean the same brand but same size, my core is 24x12x3. Hi nathan, congrats on your 12 Your car is more than capable of a show!! hey at least your are man enough to stay with the 5speed. Mycar is still running pig rich, i came down 3000+ ft in elevation and the car still has too much fuel. guess i was running real rich in denver.
  9. I had the Spearco system on my car and saw NO gain from it. All i got was rust!! Rust in the i/c piping (the little bit that was exposed) was very bad. It did not allow for more boost or timing. i do hear that the more expesive computer controlled kits are very nice. The cheaper kits 300.00 and under use a washer fluid pump and rely on boost to pressure the tank. the nicer kits run an actuall high pressure pump for a nice mist.
  10. here is how it looks installed http://www.geocities.com/shaneszt/index.html?1032746695529
  11. diesel's do not have a throttle plate, there is no reason at all for a BOV on a diesel since there is no throttle to close and back feed to the turbo.
  12. Does your trans have a vacuum modulator? when i switched to an auto the guy that built the tranny had me put some check valves and vents in the line to the modulator. this would keep the line form seeing boost and keep it from trapping vacuum in the line and sucking the fluid out. anyway maybe your somehow leaking boost into the tranny
  13. i can honestly say that the driveshaft loop is very good to have
