  9. Got rid of the strut towers. I bet you could swap a really w i d e engine in there. "Duzzat thing have a Hemi?"
  10. I also recall similar setups in 1980's Toyota Celica Supra and Cressida - and early 1980's Sterling (made by Honda and Austin / Rover), had a "drum" parking brake in the rear disc brake rotor. These both had 4 x 4 1/2" lug circle. But when was the last time I saw any of those at the wrecking yard....hmmm....? Since they are still available new, Might be a source for $25 rotors? '82-'86 Supra rotor is 10 1/2" dia, 18mm thick, 42mm "hat", 60mm overall deep, 60mm dia. hub centering hole.
  11. Ford caliper mounting brackets bolt onto the 8.8-inch and 9-inch Ford truck axle housings with the 3-5/16-inch x 2-inch bolt pattern and the large 3.15-inch outside bearing diameter.
  12. I think that is a rear disc set up (looks like Ford to me....) The shoes are for the parking brake and uses the "hat" portion of the disc for the drum.
  13. '96-and-up Mustangs have a unique security system called the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS), which can cause problems for DIY engine swappers who aren't familiar with it. PATS is comprised of a steering column-mounted transmitter and an ignition key with a coded chip (arrow) that all work together to protect the 'Stang. When you attempt to start the engine, the PATS transmitter sends out a radio frequency signal that's picked up by the transponder in the key. Once the key's coded chip is recognized, the transponder returns a unique RF signal to the PCM, giving the OK for the engine to start and run. Engines swapped from PATS-equipped 'Stangs have no hope unless the processor, coded key, and transponder package are part of the process, or the PATS system is disabled with a plug-in chip or flash tuner.
