  1. I run a knockoff set of 'stang Bullet wheels 18x9 up front 18x10 in the rear with a stupid amount of offset and 25mm spacers all the way around. I run Pirelli P-Zero Rosso's in 295/35s or so off a Porsche
  2. I have piles of AN fittings and braided hoses of all sizes. I like tidy leak free setups. The core on the cooler has a broken nipple that I could replace and run but frankly it is 25 years old and from Russia. I would rather run a new Morcal unit like I have on my engine cooler setup. The welding of the AN bung to the cast iron diff housing will be the only tricky bit. It will require a lot of preheating I'm sure.
  3. Thinking of doing some track days, but besides that an inline filter would be a nice addition. I will be running a Nismo GT Pro 2way LSD and I just feel keeping it cool under heavy driving will prolong its life.
  4. I have an European differential cooler setup, came stock on the Z31s, that I am converting to use AN fittings. This is how the setup works, pretty simple really. Diff cover: same as the stock z31 LSD cover but it has been drilled behind the breather for a pickup tube with filter. Both plugs have been replaced with sensors for the thermostatic switch that operates the pump. Housing: same as the stock long nose z31 in the USA with one caviat, the top of the housing directly above the carrier has been tapped for the return line. Pump: mounts to the frame uses banjo feeds. Pumps about a gallon a minute if I remember correctly Cooler: long with only a few rows, mounts to the frame 2 nipples feeding the side I'm never satisfied with stock so I am replacing the cooler and the nipple/hose design with a nice AN setup with a slightly bigger cooler core. When I eyeballed the stock hoses they looked to be 5/16 maybe 3/8s, that would translate to a -5 or-6 respectably. Most aftermarket setups look to use -8 so that worries me a bit. Besides that I need to locate a banjo to AN adapter that will work with the stock pump or replace the part. The last problem is welding a fitting to the diff housing and cover for the supply and return. Mike

My main squeeze at this point. 87k Miles with meticulous records. 5spd goodness and thousands of bucks in parts to install
  6. http://www.az-zbum.com/information.body.kits.shtml this would be the page to look at proudear has a bunch of stuff to but its seriously expensive due to shipping from japan
  7. this would be great if accomplished. Finally a definitive list, though i think the yr andd make of the car should be added into the info. because im "sure" a fwd Ka and a rwd Ka probably will not weigh the exact same.
  8. i don't have an exact figure but its said to be a little over 100lbs lighter than the vg30e so i would imagine it would make it a lot lighter than the dual cam
  9. its a shame.. i mean it does have the advantages of 10yrs of technology, weight and having the vg as a template to improve along. i love(d) my vgs over the past few years. I've owned 3 vg30e's and i abused them all. i drove with a blown radiator just under 100 miles, with stops, before it died. if that isn't worth something idk what is. very brick house.
  10. Alot of questions have been asked about the vq35's reliability. some say the engine is laughable in comparison to the tried and true vg30dett and vg30et. well i have a z31 that i have been looking into giving the old hybridz treatment with a vq swap. I found a few things interesting about the engine, the fact it has a chain for timing ect. well i digress, over on my350z.com they tested the limits of the vq35 from a 04 g35. (non revup). heres a link that should end the naysaying for a little bit. http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=250645 hit me up if you need to login, i'll cut and paste the important stuff Highlights include GTM Track Testing Day – January 28 2007, Willow Springs Raceway – Big Willow Stock Block power handling testing specifications: 2004 6MT G35 Coupe Over 20K miles Boosted on Engine APS Twin Turbo System HKS F-Con V-Pro w/ Knock Amp and Dual LC-1 A/F Feedback HKS Sensors HKS Navigator Pro HKS EVC 6 Boost Controller HKS 1000cc Injectors CJ-Motorsports Stage 2 Fuel System GReddy EVO TT Exhaust APS 3.5 Test Pipes Car Dynoed at 518rwhp @ 12PSI on 93 Octane…. To really test the car we ran it at 14PSI! On 100octane at the track…ALL DAY usually this car ran with water/methanol injection. this was not present on the day it finally died under an abusive track day. the thing they have stated a million times over is that this was using the best parts available and arguably the best vq35 tuner in the country. on a related note most recommend not taking the car over 430whp or 400wtq. Not perfect but not bad plus the engine is alot lighter than the vg. on the upside the vg's have a greater knowledge base.
  11. Some Z31 came with a digital auto control, but it doesn't look nearly as sleek as the i30 unit
