  1. Do you still have the stock airbox? From your 1st post it sounds as you do. I'm running the iceman intake and don't have the small oil residue (any really), but had your exact "symptoms" when running the stock airbox. As per Ethan Barer (good friend at SRT Engineering / dodgetweaker from srtforums) this is normal due to the blow-by produced by the pcv system of the motor design. Don't worry about it causing any problems, unless it does start to smoke. Then start looking at the turbo itself. Did someone really tell you that oil could be leaking from the turbo due to heat-up/cool-down? You have to remember most of the knowledgeable veterans and the srt engineering staff have moved on from that site and it's hard to believe what alot of the others write on that forum.
  2. I can recommend the Clarke 130EN as I own one. It's a great 110v unit to learn with and the price is also very resonable too.
  3. Yes a fridge and small amount of other essentials should be fine, I meant when the fridge 1st starts up it will pull alot off that little generator. Also, you're saying the generator running your camp was 10k watts??? Or 10kva, there's a big difference there. I'm not busting on you either, just don't want the original poster to burn his house down or worse, hurt someone.
  4. Yes you are posing a risk to yourself and others by that method! A transfer switch and an equally matched alternate power source is the only safe way to accomplish your goal. Plus a 8/10k watt gen will blow just by the fridge startup alone! Using extension cords to power the bare essentials, not to exceed the capacity of your gen. is the safest way to go with what you have. I'm a network engineer and work with electricans setting up Data Centers, so I've been taught how to properly setup backup power systems.
  5. I have a Turbonetics T3 with the water and oil cooled center section on my 82 ZX turbo. I used the existing air regulator coolant ports without any issues (air reg was removed).
  6. You have a habit of late turn-in, which can be understandable due to those dusty apex's. Also you're not using all of the track, you paid for it so use it all Keep it up, you'll get better. I have video from the 2004 Cannonball run at the turn onto the drag strip. Those vehicles were traveling at alot higher speed, so that made it interesting watching them keeping control of the transition from asphalt to drag strip.
  7. I have experienced the same type of issue on an 80's mitsu motor, couldn't get it timed in. You should plan to replace the crank as mentioned above.
  8. Good Job! Just don't try to get overboost happy with her...raise the boost (with supporting mods of course) in baby steps. I recommend you save up for an Innovate LM-1 or LC-1 with XD-1 guage wide band. Your motor will thank you for it when the modding begins.
  9. Cyberweld.com has the Miller Elite in black with the storage bag for $225.00 I'm going to order it from them unless there is a better price out there.
  10. Check the pre-load on your wastegate actuator. By adding more load on the gate, it will stay closed longer to build more boost and that should cut the lag you're experiencing. Or you have a dreaded boost leak.
  11. You got a pm coming your way.
  12. Here is the club site you're looking for http://www.georgiazclub.com/ I have an 82 ZXT, but need another shell. If you or anyone else knows of an 82 ZXT for sell let me know. Prefer one not running.
  13. Well spill the beans, which other forum was it?
  14. Maybe start up your own thread so for a better response.
  15. I get your point more than you assume. Yes we did word it wrong as smoke refering to coolant burning, when it would actually be steam and does dissapate quickly (I run w/i and have had the check valve stick open). A very small amount of oil burning could be interpreted as white smoke, so I'll stand corrected now.
