  1. The track is AWESOME! I am trying to get the time to take a Road Race class there from either The Ridge Racing School or Hooked on Driving. After I take the class I will be certified to drive on the high performance track days! I thought someone here was putting together a list of potential members for the area?? Summer is FINALLY HERE!!
  2. PM sent.I have a 77' 280Z that I just got running with megasquirt that I built. I live near Shelton,WA and there is a brand new road race course here called The Ridge Motorsports park. They offer High Performance Driving classes and I have gone out to watch many events and I have only seen (1) 280Z!. We should get together at the track and show them them some real "style". Here is a link to Ridge Motorsports park: http://www.ridgemotorsportspark.com/ Mike
  3. Oh GREAT! just when I finally decided on Corvette Atomic Orange, I stumble upon this thread and I am back to square one and gray primer! jkgts1 can you please post some more inspiring pics?
  4. I installed a set of the eBay conversion lights on my 77' 280Z and they definetly made a difference. I am tempted by the price reductions in the HID conversion kits but I worry about how long they would last and if they would burn up anything else when they go!
  5. Thanks for the responses, I won't be able to check the fuel pump and filter till the weekend so I will report back what I find. The good thing is that I KNOW it can run great because it does the first 30 seconds after starting!
  6. I checked the thermotime switch and it is within the factory specs, but I even disconnected the connection to the cold start valve and it didn't make any difference. I think I have a fuel pump/rust in the tank issue. When I squeeze off the return line it seems to run better.
  7. I think it is running rich because of the black soot that comes out of the exhaust and the smell. I installed an inline fuel filter last year right after the fuel pump and I need to check that tomorrow. I also think I need to check the fuel pressure because the more I think about it the more I think it is a "fuel" related issue......
  8. Hello, I have a 77' 280Z with a stock L28 and FI system. I have downloaded and read the FI Bible and I own the FSM and I have run all the system checks but I must be missing something! Here is what is happening: When you first start it up the engine runs great, hot or cold but after a minute it begins to run rich and sputter. If you turn it off and start it again it will do the same thing, run great then rich/sputter. Please help............ Thanks in advance, Mike
  9. Yes, I do have a daily driver I am just worried about making to many changes at once and then if I have a problem I might not be able to pinpont where the problem is.
  10. Thanks everbody for the responses. I thought along the same lines "baby steps" I will order up the MS kit today and get building! I'm sure I will have alot more questions when I get it installed so thank you in advance!
  11. Hey Guys, I have been searching and learning from all of the excellent information here but this is my first post so I will try and get it right. I have a 77' 280 with a tired stock motor so I am in the process of rebuilding an 82' l28ET. I know I definetly want to go with a Megasquirt set-up for both fuel and spark. My question is should I get Megasquirt running first on the stock motor and then drop in the l28ET or perform the swap and then install Megasquirt? Thanks
