old thread... I know, but did you ever get a resolution? My 77, l28et w/z31 electronics is doing the same thing. I haven't ruled out the possibility of a bad ecu, but dont want to throw parts at it for no reason.
Any luck?! I'm super bummed that we're all kind of having the same problems at the same time. I'm suspecting my ecu might be bad. I really don't want to throw parts at it without knowing for sure though...

1.5jz = 1jz head mated to a 2jz block. Usually a turbocharged block but I've seen threads where they were mated to a na 2jz-Ge block out of an sc300 or something of the sort. Benefits would be more torque due to the longer stroke and increased displacement if I'm not mistaken. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
