  1. oh isht son. That looks great. And you're in SD too... I just might have to come by and take a look at that if you don't mind.
  2. I'm getting ready to get started on my SR20DET swap into my 260Z. I've seen a lot of pics from vildini and I'm going to pretty much copy their cradle design. I've got an old man at the auto hobby shop on Miramar who is very friendly and very knowledgable in the welding and fabrication department. His first question for me was "why don't you just do a V8 swap, that's what everyone does in those?". I laughed and told him "well now hold on a minute... I'm still going to make a decent amount of power and it's going to weigh a whole lot less." So the guy told me to bring in some pictures and we'll see what we can do. I've seen these but am looking for some more if anybody has them. If I've got an old man willing to help me out, and all I need to do is bring in square metal and pay 5 bucks a day for a flat spot.... I would much rather do it there and learn a whole lot. not to mention save a ton of money. Post some pics of your mounts. I'll be sure to document every step along the way and post pics.
  3. Wow, I like that. I could SO get away with that in San Diego weather.
  4. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/car/327976227.html Saw this on CL and was supprised at how clean it is. Thought I'd share. Very interesting.
  5. this helped a lot. It was a very easy thing to fix: http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/PR-BV60/index2.html
  6. so the pics speak for themselves. the yoke thing attached to the diff broke the bushings that hold the u joint. How much of this should I replace (so that it doesn't happen every time I do a burnout)?
  7. so just looking under the car I found it. On the left side of the Diff the yolk thing that connects to the axle (i know i'm using the wrong terms here) the big pin came out and the axle is just hanging down. hence no power to the wheels. the yolk on the left side of the diff was just spinning. yeay. so i knocked it loose doing a burnout and then it took a while to actually shake itself completely out.
  8. full coverage with pics to come this afternoon
  9. yeah I'm so excited to look at this when I get home from work. This is why we pay 800 dollars for a car folks to not give a ♥♥♥♥ and not stress out about stuff...
  10. Got a 260 with an L28 in it. stock 260 Diff. Stomped on it and sounded like I broke some thing (in the rear end). Gimping home suddenly it felt like I drove over a brick. No power to the wheels in any gear. I get out of the car and the first thing that I notice is the whole car is 3 inches higher than normal. Only thing I can think of is the rear axle let go of the hub and released the tension on the springs... Haven't even looked under it yet cause I'm working today. Good thing I was 100 feet from home. Towed it with my Xterra.
  11. Is Joel on here? Pewter 240Z SR20DET Joel? cleanest damn interior I've ever seen http://www.vildinimotorsport.com/gallery/joelsr240z-2.html
  12. Why not have a meetup at race legal say once a month or something? http://racelegal.com/news/news.asp How about the first race legal date of every month? You guys ever been there? it's down at qualcomm, pretty cool event and cheap.
  13. Im in Rancho Bernardo and I usually go to watch Race Legal on fridays. I'm not too familiar with the scene around here though because I just moved here a while ago.
  14. Not to get off topic or anything but damn, I didn't know so many of us are in San Diego. We should meet and greet. I'll make a new thread to discuss. "In San Diego"
  15. I've got a computer job. I work at BAE systems National Security Solutions and my employer is Red Hat, Inc. I'm an enterprise architect / on-site consultant. Until I move back to Okinawa anyway...
  16. damn dude, I'll be on the lookout for a white Z with light covers. That's like 3 exits down from me, I'm in RB.
  17. Looks GREAT! I really appreciate all the pics.
  18. Oh my god. Well at least I'm not alone. I spent last night at home depot buying two 24" 1/2" threaded rods, Nuts, washers, and a bar to connect them. I've got a wrench on the top of the cartridge and the top nut is on. I was going to lever between the wrench and the base plate for the Coil but after reading this.... I'm just going to buy a torch. If that fails I'm going to search the bone yards. This is the Passengers side rear giving me this problem. Fronts werent too bad.
