  1. Looking awesome! I am into this.
  2. Steering mod sounds awesome! My research has concluded that the aftermarket standalone systems lack complex cam phasing control, and they only phase one stick (intake or exhaust) and only have RPM as the input's relational table. This would be a major downgrade, especially for the HR which has phasing on both intake and exhaust and takes input factors such as engine load and throttle position when determining the optimal cam phase position.
  3. Phar, thanks for the induction. I have been crawling around this site researching this build for many years now. I have read your thread, Austin's, Myron's, and another. I think that I have covered all aspects of it. You all have great info and I am thankful that there is this support community here. I have purchased the engine and trans already. I got all the wiring harnesses, the pedal assy, ECU, BCM, IPDM, keys, ign, alternator, drive shaft, MAFs, O2 sensors, clutch pack/flywheel, throwout bearing, clutch master cyl (Austin did this mod too), and a few other things. What new clutch parts do you think I will need? The engine had low milage on it (10K) and it all looks to be in very good shape. The engine mounts are an AutoCAD file I got from a guy in NZ. It is basically 3 plates that you get laser/water cut and then weld together. I may or may not go this route: might make my own. I will be doing a 'cradle' style mounting system. Planning on modding the crossmember similar to whats been done before. Ill start my thread as soon as I can and look forward to sharing with you and the community!! -Matt
  4. How has the swap been going over the past year? I am starting my HR swap in the next few weeks here. Looking forward to sharing with you and the rest of the community. Here are a few parts teasers.
  5. That is correct. HR motors need the HR engine harness as well as the dash harness if you want the OBDII plug (only need 6" of pigtail from this, so you could cut it from a donor if you can't get the whole dash harness).
  6. I'm am doing an HR swap into my 240Z. Another option regarding wiring and ECM is a service provided by ZFever. They will re-flash your ECM to remove the NATS feature so you don't need matching keys, BCM, or anything except the ECM itself. $400 They will also do your wiring harness for you; turn it into a standalone harness that requires you to only hook-up 4 wires (12v constant, 12v ign, starter, fuel). $750 I've not heard feedback from someone who had them perform either service, so can not add anything to that effect. I am personally undecided on having them do this or if I'll do it myself.
  7. Did anything ever happen with the original poster? Madkaw, did you find a 240 sample dash to take to your fabricator?
