  1. I was looking at the title exhaust system on the MSA website. Has anyone here had any experience with it? Specifically, does it intall without any issues (i.e. modifications, bends, etc...)? Also, what does the car sound like after it was installed? We are looking to get a stock like sound from the exhaust system. I'm not looking for a sedan like sound but something that is relatively quiet and does not have any nasty resonances at specific rpms. If anyone has any experiences with this system please share them here. Thank you, Mike Nycz P.S. Forgot to mention... We have a 1975 280z, stock manifold.
  2. My son just had the front passenger side fender painted on his 1975 280z. He now needs to reattach the 280z emblem that goes on the lower part of the fender. The original was attached via studs and clips that attached from the rear. When removing the emblem all but one of the studs has broken off. So the question is... What is the best way to reattach the emblem. Body shops have said to use double sided tape. The problem with this emblem is that the back side is not a flat surface. The only places where the emblem would actually touch the fender is around the edges of the emblem. Would placing tape on these edges only be sufficient to hold the thing in place? If anyone has any tricks or tips they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike Nycz
  3. Make sure you can get the fill plug out BEFORE you take out the drain plug. This will ensure that you don't wind up with an embarrassing moment (i.e. an empty trans with no way to fill it). Mike Nycz
  4. I am looking to replace the weatherstripping on my son's 75 280z. I saw that Black Dragon has them for $30 each door... MSA has them for $70 per door. Does anyone have experiences with these brands and were there any big differences between them (besides price)? Thank you, Mike Nycz
  5. My son's 75 280z is having the following issue. When we start it up cold (sitting overnight) the car starts with no problems however the idle surges between 600 and 1500 rpm with about a 1 second frequency. This goes on for about 1-2 minutes. After the car starts to warm up slightly the surging goes away and idles smooth as glass. If we shut the car off and start up warm there are no problems. We've tried using throttle body cleaner to spray around and look for vacuum leaks but have found none. The one clue that we discovered this weekend was that vacuum is low and variable when we start the car cold (12 - 15). When the car warms up and the idle gets smooth the vacuum goes up to 19 and is steady. We have checked all of the sensors (water temp, air temp, etc...) and they seem to be fine. We just pulled and cleaned the BCDD and that seems to be ok as well. The throttle plate works smoothly and is clean. Does anyone have ideas as to what we can look at to find an answer to this problem? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Mike Nycz
  6. Or, you can but a new latch plate!... I bought one from MSA for ~$18... solved the problem and the part was an original nissan part. Mike Nycz
