  1. RyanT67's 240Z

There hasn't been a whole lot to update on here this Summer. I've been driving the car very regularly and logged a few thousand miles without any issues - the car is running well and I'm having a blast! One small update is the new battery I am now running though. I somehow managed to win "viewers choice" in a local car show that was sponsored by Braille, and the prize was a B2317 battery. GOOD PRIZE!!! The thing is pretty tiny, weighs just 17lbs, and according to the sheet that came in the box it's rated for around 750CCA. I wasted no time throwing it in the car. I'm sure some folks will no doubt take exception to me cutting up a super-duper-mad-rare series 1 jack cover here, but trust me when I say that it was pretty beat up anyway. Either way, the install looks pretty tidy to me! The old AGM battery I had behind the seat weighed 45lbs and was large enough to limit how far the passenger seat could roll back on the seat rails. With the Braille, I have lost 28lbs, and it's small enough that the passenger seat can slide all the way back again. Quite pleased! I've also attached a couple more pics of the car, just because...
  2. Mystery Big Valve Ported N42 Head.

I'd get it flowed somewhere locally at 25 or 28 inches. If you have a stock head, get them to do that as well for a baseline. Then at least you can have numbers on a comparable scale to what others do. I'd expect the head to perform well though, fingers crossed for you!
  3. NA 3.1L=>head & camshaft questions. No shortcuts, max

It's always a treat reading updates on your build. Those are some strong numbers already, with room for even more power with some extra jetting tweaks. Good stuff! Tidy work on the exhaust line. I'm surprised you're only running what looks like an 18" long 5" round muffler - must really scream at WOT!! The strut bracing looks great too.
  4. Mikuni 44 PHH Plated Hardware Kits

Bump, back in stock. The kits are slightly different to the ones pictured in the original post - for the air horns they use locking nuts instead of lock washers and nuts. Here are some pictures of what I have:
  5. Who's s30 with Carbon Fiber Hood Louvers ??? (PIC)

Those look really great and I bet they'll work very well, nicely done!
  6. Compare your Dyno sheets HERE

    Rebello's numbers are crank.

Awesome, congrats!!! Looking forward to reading about how the chassis dyno goes. Still lots of good weather left for you to enjoy the car before Winter as well!

RE: Ads Perhaps I'm in the minority on this matter, but I adblock whitelisted this site (to allow ads to display) years ago. The ads displayed are unobtrusive and minimal - a few banners, no more. I get that some sites are overladen with ads and it's overwhelming and obnoxious, hiding content and worse. Hybridz isn't one of those sites. I'm not sure that yearly fund drives will prove sustainable, so it's a small price to pay to ensure the site stays up in my opinion. That's said, having a paid membership level that opts out of ads? Great idea!

Hmm, it's truly great to see folks digging deep to help save the site. I'll pitch in shortly as well. But let's also see if we can help solve some of the problems and keep the site sustainable for the long term. Some thoughts: 1] Would trimming old deadweight topics help any by saving server space? 2] Would disabling sections of the site that aren't really used help at all, such as the gallery and garage functions? 3] Is it possible to put up an adblock detection wall, requiring users to disable it or whitelist the site? 4] Is it possible to reach out to Z car part suppliers and form a sponsorship program with them through the site? They pay a set fee and get ad space and forum space to sell their goods. That's just off the top of my head. At the end of the day, this list has to be kept sensible though, and not create a large amount of additional work for the administration team. The site is provided as a service to the community after all, and not to provide profit/income.

Thanks scartail! They are 15x8" with a 0 offset. The car is lowered about 2” all round, and I had to roll the rear fender arches for clearance due to tire rub. Grannyknot, can't wait to see your car - looks like you've got a very busy week ahead of you to get it all ready in time!

Nothing much going on, it's been the Summer of rain here in Ontario, so my time with the Z has been severely limited. A couple of weeks ago I did have my 60-2 trigger wheel fly off the front of the crank and knock a hole in one of the radiator tubes before hitting the road surface. I strongly suspect it was my own fault though, as I probably (in a hungover state on a Sunday afternoon) didn't use lock washers on the fasteners for the trigger wheel. Took about 5000 miles to walk the screws out of the harmonic balancer though. Easy enough fix, a $100 patch job on the rad at a local shop and a new trigger wheel. Rad still cools like a champ, and the trigger wheel is actually an improvement since Electromotive updated it's design some years back. I used red loctite on the screws this time, and also sourced longer hex cap machine screws, as well as fresh washers and lock washers. I'll keep an eye on it too the usual paranoia after something fails once thing... Took a few shots of the car this weekend. High res versions available on flickr here is anyone is interested: https://www.flickr.com/gp/[email protected]/6v3057 The Ontario Z Car Club Zfest car show is on Sunday, July 23rd in Hamilton Ontario. I'll be taking the drive down for it, so hopefully I'll get to see a few other cars from on here while there. Excited for it!
  12. Mikuni 44 PHH Plated Hardware Kits

All sold, thanks! I'll post again if I get more.

Sometimes you just gotta focus on the positives. The new engine is in and running, no issues with it either, which is a huge step! So far as the electrical issues, I'd check your grounds. It's odd that multiple electrical systems would be misbehaving all of a sudden. You are running one of those fancy lithium batteries too I believe, right? They can be a real pain when they have been discharged. I'd also check that, or try throwing your truck battery in to see what happens. Hope it's not the battery though, those suckers are EXPENSIVE. Onwards and upwards!
  14. Mikuni 44 PHH Plated Hardware Kits

Bumping this, I still have 16 kits with lock washer for the air horns, and 11 kits with locking nuts for air horns. Shoot me a message if you are interested. Thanks
  15. WTB: 6 Mikuni velocity stacks / air horns

Did some digging, as I remembered a guy on one of the Facebook groups making them. If you are on Facebook, then I'd look him up and send a message. Here you go:
