  1. Ive thrown together a handful of Ford swaps. All of them are still driving around as far as I know. Done 302's and a few 2.3L Turbo Fords, however Ive sold them all but will be building another soon!
  2. Its already been posted for you what years to look for. Here in CA the 1992 Mustang also had forged pistons. There are a lot of builds off these forged roller blocks making 300HP with worked over GT40 factory heads and the right cam carb and intake.
  3. Ive done this swap into a 240z 3 times now. The best one was pushing 400hp and still got over 40mgp. Made for an incredible car. Im thinking about doing it again in the next coming months.
  4. I think all that would accomplish is less braking and handling and a ton of added weight
  5. Wow, looks like that thing has a pretty violent launch! Im curious to see what the engine has done to it, since I have a very similar car.
  6. Woot! Got mine in the mail yesterday and they are almost too pretty to install! Thanks again to the both of you!
  7. Just a heads up, the 351C engine is not a small block like the 5.0/302 is.....
  8. Thats the thread I was thinking of
  9. There is a member on the forum that had pictures posted of a 4.6 in a 240z I think it was. It fits but just barely. There are several companies now that make stand alone engine harnesses for the 4.6 and will reflash your ecu. Has to be done to get past the factory anti theft system. My next Z is gonna get a supercharged 4.6
  10. Whoa, we are still talking about machining right? Lol
  11. Cool action shot with the metal chips flying through the air
  12. Awesome, thanks for responding quickly.
  13. So datrod do you have any rough idea of when all the pieces will be finished and shipped off to Johnc? I know things happen, but I just want to plan ahead. Do you think it will be a week or a month is the answer Im looking for. They look awesome and I cant wait! Thanks
  14. So John, do you have any kind of time-line for run completion and payment and such? Not expecting any concrete days, just need to plan my finances as I will be buying a pair in the first run. Thanks
  15. Woot! Cant wait Glad to see you are still married Red! Keeping beating those axles
  16. Oh dude we have all had car days like that. For every one thing you fix three others break and nothing goes easily. But you have learned some very good tips for the next one!
  17. A car like that sells for around 1500 here in Cali.....
  18. Hey man, I see you have already "mounted" your engine, but you should have enough room for your exhaust to clear. I just got my second 5.0L Z on the road and used pretty much the same parts that you are using on both and didnt have to modify my Patriot headers. My engine is offset just a bit to the passenger side and both the oil filter and the driver side header clear the steering shaft with a "fingers clearance" or more. Im sure you already tried, but I recomend you shift your engine and trans a bit to clear, but it looks like you might have to raise the engine a bit though. Just a thought Its looking really good so far though!
  19. Wow, as usual Im impressed John I want in on the first buy as well
  20. Going from carb to efi you need to address the fuel tank somehow. A carb uses its fuel bowl(s) as a buffer for temporary loss of fuel flow. Like when you are low on gas and go around a corner. An efi system doesnt have a buffer, it need constant fuel supply so efi tanks are usually baffled to disrupt fuel sloshing and swinging around in the tank.
  21. But I agree is a nice car, especially for someone out of state that might want it. Nicely done
  22. We have smog here in California and that car will not pass smog in its current condition. 400Hp Chevy powered 240z's are having trouble selling at $4000 around here.
