  1. That is a LOT of movement. Funny, spent over $2K on suspension and this is what u get. Thinking if body can flex so much, ending like this. Hard to say, underbody camera would be nice.
  2. Nothing major. Been working with my S13 lately. Got brilliant idea in July and tried to get it MOT'd. Didn't happen... Maybe in wintertime I'll get something done.
  3. I was thinking to go with 6mm. Seems easier that way. Not sure what they should be, but I'm okay with that.
  4. There was some conversation in other topic about blade type rollbar. So, i have one like this. 32x3mm cro-mo tube and 260mm blades. Blades are 35 to 25mm wide and 6mm thick, steel of course. Bar itself is more just a link between blades. This type rollbar works mainly with blades, i.e tube is stiff and blades are flexing (if they do) It depends how they are adjusted. If blade is vertical, it´s very stiff, horizontally they are pretty flexible. Any position between those, are something between, ofc. To adjust, just loose bolt (most left head of blade) and tur to desired position. Or attach cable and make remote control.
  5. Bar is 32x3mm cro-mo tube. Blades are ~260mm long, 35 to 25mm wide and thickness is 6mm. I post picture in my own build thread, to keep this topic tidy.
  6. Just wondering, why not blade type rollbar? Very easy to adjust and possible even remote by cable. I have one on my 240, not remote (yet)
  7. Taking off the door skin is quite easy job. Just did it to my driver door and takes about half an hour. The edge is just bended over the edge and there is welds both upper corners. Helps a lot, and you really get rid of rust.
  8. Just get my Everlast 256Si, seems like decent machine. Not welded much with it, but feels no different than Kemppi.
  9. Just leave this pic here for Jboogsthethug
  10. Half shafts, brakes and tons of aftermarket goodies. Adjustable everything, anti-squat, adjustable toe curve.
  11. Funny, about video and topic about cantilever suspensions, everybody goes nuts. With real world it´s just "one pivot point more suspension" Okay, you can get some progressive behavior with pivot, but main reason with these things are: The fit in a low car. That´s the main reason for use these things. Well maybe some street credibility, but that´s different story.
  12. Yes, camber gain is good, but in this case i´ll say there is too much. Good point with roll center also. Short upper arm moves roll center dramatic. Weight distribution was one of main reasons for my decisions with engine and other stuff. My goal is rear weighted FR car. I wanted ~55% weight on rear wheels. Now you´ll ask why not 50/50. Because in braking weight moves to front, and then balance stays better than 50/50 starting ratio. What is my final thought of this kit, i´ll say it is too much trying to be "track attack- best for money can buy" As i say, overkill. I think good designed McStrut would be better than this. And finally, my car build is more like journey, not just car to be driven on track or so... It´s my way to challenge myself and see what man can do.
  13. Wow, didn´t realize porsche is that holy... Well what comes to this "ultimate" suspension, it has pros and cons for a same reason: It is bolt on. First, front upper control arm is pretty short. This means that camber gain is massive. I would prefer lomger arm´s, upper and lower also. Coilover attach point maybe lower control arm. Back, i´ll say that push-rod system is unneccessary. Just show off, i think and extra weight. Can´t say much of geometry cos poor angled pictures. So, front is suffering badly bolt-on caracteristic and back is bit overkill. Back maybe performs better, but too much extra weight (push-rod system) Allthought there is lots of adjusting possibilities, sadly they are just holes to choose and not stepless. but $8700? I wouldn´t bother. That why I used S13-based suspensions in my car, front and rear. Miata should be good donor for a great handling Z. Just need some cutting and welding. Btw. Mc Strut system isn´t that bad, it´s just difficult because it need space so much horizontaly.
  14. Or is it just because you can't get decent balance. Are we talking about apples and oranges here.
