  1. Suncentral Z Car Club has a Facebook page. Hit them up, lm sure they would love to have you as a member.
  2. Had a great time at the annual Christmas party! Saw a bunch of friends that I hadn’t seen in a while, and my buddy Bill Coffey showed up with Bob Sharp. Fun was had by all, and a special thank you to Jim Frederick for hosting the party and sharing his collection!
  3. Mike you are a realist, and I think that these are some of the wisest words that I have ever heard on this forum. 400 WHP in a 2500 lb car is a huge number. Given the tools that we have to work with on these old cars (regardless of upgrades) it becomes very easy to start lapping slower given the usual skills of us weekend warriors as horsepower is increased. As for the reliability aspect, you can have 600, 800, or a thousand horsepower, but if your not there for the checkered does it really matter?? This subject should have it's own thread. I'm sure the discussion would be lively.
  4. Great Video! If she was running short on news for the girls, I'm sure that this will keep her busy for a while. What a sweetheart.

  6. This just in from Hemmings. http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2010/12/23/legislation-e15-battle-royale-brewing/?refer=news
  7. A Sunoco station close to me offers fuel without Ethanol. I believe that they are ordering Marine fuel, which in my opinion is even better because it's a mid-grade and they attempt to stabilize the shelf life. Perfect for anything that is going to see only occasional use, and limited use then. [deleted]
  8. I think that SEMA's concern, and mine, is that older vehicles (and not much older) were not designed with components entirely compatible with alchohol. The biggest problem with ethanol fortified gasoline is the reduced shelf life when used with products that see limited useage (ie; Boats, Chainsaws, Pressure washers, Log Splitters, or even your vintage cars). I have the avilabilty of buying fuel without Ethanol but only use it in applications that see infrequent use. My daily driver get the fuel with Ethanol and I sure wish it lasted longer than it does.
  9. Belonging to the SEMA Action Network cost nothing and is something that as car enthuasist we should all support! REGULATORY ALERT (UPDATE) SAN Members Say “No†to More Ethanol in Gasoline The SEMA Action Network wants to thank the hundreds of members who asked President Obama to stop the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from raising the ethanol content in gasoline. The SAN worked with a number of other organizations to generate more than 22,000 total e-mailed letters. The collective effort spanned a broad cross-section of industries, including boating interests, grocers, convenience stores and, of course, car enthusiasts. The EPA is expected to rule by late October on whether to raise the ethanol content in gasoline from 10 percent (E10) to 15 percent (E15) for late-model cars. It could permit the use in other cars at a later date. The SAN is opposing the initiative due to concerns that the additional content will harm automobiles of all ages, including special interest collector and historic vehicles. Ethanol increases water formation in the fuel system, especially when the vehicle sits over a period of time. Under these conditions, formic acid is created which corrodes metals, plastics and rubber. Ethanol also causes engines to burn hotter which could lead to premature engine and equipment failure. The EPA has no procedure in place to adequately protect against misfueling or to ensure that gasoline with no ethanol will continue to be available for owners of older vehicles. We will let you know when the EPA issues its decision. Meanwhile, we are taking this opportunity to thank our SAN members for their effective response. Questions/comments may be directed to Steve McDonald at stevem@sema.org. Original Action Alert: http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?id=62807
  10. This is not Brian's (JCCJDM) kit. This is the 5 piece kit from the fellas in Tennessee. My link
  11. Thanks Guys for all of the support during...and now after the contest. This is a graph that we supplied to CD during the contest to illustrate what occurred, and questioned the validity of voting. As you can see by comparing the information in the previously supplied (#28 above) links. We were dead on in our assessment that "Ballot Stuffing" was occurring. There is a certain satisfaction that up until the cheating started the BOZ was the "Peoples Choice" by a margin of 2-1. And...our morality is still intact.
  12. Many of you know the results. WELL HERE'S WHY! http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26436 Pay special attention to pages 3 & 4
  13. Somethings just can't be explained. http://www.chromjuwelen.com/de/tuning/web-flicks/pro-street-romania-helldriver.html I'm not sure if it's the car's, girl's, or both.
  14. Thanks everyone for their ongoing support. Today was turbulent. BlueOvalZ started at 44% of the vote. Since noon the BOZ has lost 5% while the Mustang has picked up 9% and still climbing. We have identified their methods and for ethical reasons have chosen not to duplicate them. This poll ends on Thursday night, but are looking to maintain our margin and make a Z car "Show Off of the Year" If you have not voted please take a moment make your opinion count. http://blog.cardomain.com/2009/12/22/peoples-choice-2009/ 1 vote per 24 hr. period. Thanks for your help!! P.S. -Nissan is still #1 in the manufacturers category!
  15. This sucks...but so would loosing your leg(s)! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP3EIHp3AqE
  16. The BOZ is still out front. It's lead was been narrowed a bit by the Lexus. In the manufactures poll Nissan is still out front. It appears that you may vote once every 24 hours. http://blog.cardomain.com/2009/12/22/peoples-choice-2009/
  17. Hey Steve, Happy Holiday's. Can I get the name of that magazine, and issue date? Thanks!
  18. Nissan and GM are tied for #1 in the Manufactures category.
  19. Guys, CarDomain has nominated the BlueOvalZ as 1 of 5 cars to compete for their coveted Show Off of The Year award. With over 700,000 cars as members on their site this is quite an honor. The "Show Off of The Year" will be awarded by popular vote. In addition you may vote on a variety of other categories such as Best Exhaust, Best Manufacturer, Best Oil, Best Wheel, etc. Voting will conclude on December 31, and a winner will be announced. 1 vote per person per day. Tell some friends. Please take a moment now to stop by and cast your vote for the BlueOvalZ. http://blog.cardomain.com/2009/12/22/peoples-choice-2009/ Thanks for the support!! http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/4877/img3728asmall.jpg

I don't know the first car (our thread hero) shows alot of ingenuity! How many of you guys would have thought of using kitchen cabinet door hinges to mount the radiator, or the mattress out of a baby bed for a grill? The back wards 1969 Trans Am evacuator grills on the sides are an interesting touch, but I'm really wondering if he has the wire baskets for those rear wheels....Ahhhhh, that touch of elegance.
  21. I met Henrik ( http://www.cardomain.com/ride/645045 ) at the PRI show. He came over and was checking out ZWOLF. We were standing around talking and Pete Brock showed up with Gail. I wasn't sure who it was but he kept circling the car so I finally said Hi. We chatted for at least an hour about the WOLF and Henrik's build. Brock is wanting to get a huge get together for the Mitty in May ( http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/events/mitty-2010/ ). More news on that later....but keep your schedule open. It's gonna be fun!
  22. NOW FOR THE REAL STORY! Something smells fishy here!! http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Video-of-Bugatti-Crashing_719255.htm Did you see any Birds?
  23. Hey Clive, I have a business trip and won't be back until the 22nd, when were you going to head over to Jim's? Let me know, if I'm around i'll hook up with you. Roger P.S. Jim has ICE cold beer!
