Hi Guys, I 'am bringing back this old topic since I 'am still trying to figure out my problem. My car is a 260Z 5/74. My tach started to jump all over for a while and eventually got stuck at 8k and stayed there.I've replaced my coil, I've removed the resistor at the foot well on the passenger side, I also replaced it with a 2.20ohm 1/4W, made a direct connection and still not working. I've dismantle my tach and sent it to be checked. The technician showed me that the tach works. He plugged it to a small machine and showed me how gradually the needle moves, costed me $50. I've traced the blue wire; goes from the coil and "T" off to the ignition box then goes to one side of resistor. Than, from the other side of resistor to the tach. I've used a test light and there is power at all ends except from the resistor to the tach. Can the problem be my ignition box? Would greatly appreciate some input. BTW, Iam glad this site is still up, Thks Dan.

Hi everybody, I have auto meter gauges and wanted to know if I can hardwire the gauges to my 260z dash harness? Like a plug and play almost. I will use the auto meter senders (oil pressure and water temp). My question is, can I just connect the + and - to the harness with the lights? Also, the auto meter gauges uses two wires +/- for their lights. The Datsun gauges all uses one wire, how do I connect those two to the harness? I want also the Datsun dimmer switch to dim the auto meter gauges lights. I've searched and did not find anything in regards to my questions. I found a thread about the fuel gauge in term of correct ohms. My biggest challenge will be to incorporate the turn signal lights with the high beams and brake light in the speedo and tach gauge. Thanks for your help.

Dont weld it, you need air circulation in the cabin.

I bought it for my 74 but the center piece is too short. I can take picture of the back side of the center piece tomorrow.

260Z Build: Phase 1 - Suspension & brakes
Dat260 replied to Bob_260's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
There are a few supplier that sells what you are looking for. Personally, if you are not racing it, its too much adjustability for nothing. Install good urethane bushings. thick sway bars and good springs. ArizonaZ, Techno Toy Tuning, Californiadatsun.com are some that comes to mind. You can also upgrade the rear drums to disks, it a common upgrade since drums and the accessories are getting scarce. The eccentric bushings are also good, not expensive, but are hard to adjust when needed, from what I hear. Basically it boils down to money, if you like bling, and what is the intent; street driving or track. Hope that answers your questions.- 25 replies

nice work! -
Your going the right way in terms of checking mounts and bushings for the "jerking" symptoms. As for your cold start problem, do a search here Iam sure you can find something similar to your problem. There is a lot of good knowledge here, if you solve your issues post back what you did to fix it. Cheers,

I have a passenger side if you need.
