  1. i had no problem with transdapt adapters. except mine was just a casting and it appears now they are billet. they were on my 70 camaro. 250hp,350 lbs of tq. rims were aluminum mags 15X8 with a 295-50-15.not hubcentric, but i never noticed the diff.
  2. hey guys, i just bought a house and my gf couldnt figure out what to do for a home warming present. Well, everyone knows how much my 70 camaro meant to me. any who, she found a website that will use a photo of YOUR car and paint it. this is the link to my camaro painting, but they will paint a z! a bit pricey, but take it from me, once the z has its body work done and painted, im going to have them paint it too. http://www.carsart.com/cgi-bin/cars.pl?fid=1242613402&cgifunction=form&oil_painting=1970_Chevy_Camaro
  3. tony is right, if you want serious hp and torque, don't go with the w58. the stock internals have proven to hold up fine until more than 400 hp/lbs of torque.i was just throwing a simple solution out there.i thought the stock 1uz internals were only good for around 400 anyway?i could be mistaken this is only my second car build. btw my friends website for the parts is here: http://forum.uza70.com/viewforum.php?f=2
  4. as for the flywheel, i know of two options. there is a toyota truck flywheel that has to be re-drilled and the front surface needs about 1/16 of an inch removed. or my buddy makes an aluminum flywheel and clutch that will work. the throwout bearing has to be hydrualic, the one being used now is called a howie bearing. jegs sells one called ram but no one has testesd it yet to see if it will work. they re-use the mark 3 supra clutch master cylinders for this setup with custom lines -one toe the bearing from the master, one from the bearing to the engine bay for bleeding the clutch.once i get my car here and see how it fits into the engine bay i can tell you if it will fit with the 280zx power brake setup and clutch master cylinder. for more info, look at the supra v8 swap section at lextreme.
  5. hey, im trying to do the same swap on my 77 280. just use the auto bellhousing from the sc400 and i have a buddy that makes adapter plates to mate with a w58. i have 2 w58 trannies right now, and as soon as i get my car into my new house i can tell you which of the 5 speeds will be the best candidate. ei trans from celica supra, mark 3, or sc300.btw, if your intersted i believe its alumnium and 250 shipped. if your interested let me know!
  6. those rip-off projectors aren't worth it imo. i want those headlights too, but just spend the 400 and get true h.i.d. headlights.
  7. hey guys, long time lurker but i dont talk much here. anyways i have a 94 325i convertible and i absolutely love it. HOWEVER! e36's do have problems!wet ecu, damaged rear shock mounts.....when your top gets stuck and happens to be the only convertible that wont reset...water pump.etc but mine has 174,000 on the clock and it drives wonderfully. these cars are sexy and well built. except the 318ti. lol
  8. im not sure if all your body panels are available through msa and such. but as long as a company is out there manufacturing oe "LIKE" parts, they'll use those. my 70 camaro got crunched in the front right fender and no, g.m. isnt making those panels anymore lol. i have state farm, they wont total the car. my mom's 2000 325ci bmw was worth about 19,000. rear-ended and hit the guy in front of her. more than 11,000 in damage. she has it back now lol. cheer up man, it'll work out for the better in the end. btw, on another note. you need a garage and i think 25 to qualify for hagertys ins. i looked it up for the camaro when i had it. made me sad:(
  9. look at the wires going from the starter to coil. make sure they are tight, and not shorting out on block/another wire.i had the same problem before, but i didnt catch it till my wires burned lol.
  10. hey guys, thought i'd post this. watch out though. i asked him if they were ment for 240 early 260, or late 260 and 280 and he replied "with what you see in the pic is what you win in the auction " thanks Glenn - mrzxmiles http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280290631358&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123
  11. my 70 camaro through state farm started around 300 a month, but with good student, good driver, drivers ed, i think it was 220 or 230 a month.comp,collision,liability.<------owned.......
  12. thank you for the input, but i should have made it clear that i want to stay away from the aluminum dash. but thanks for the advice on the console, i'll see if i can grab it too!
  13. well, im looking for a dash alternative for my z because it's all cracked to hell like most dashes are. anyways, i've noticed a few people have made, i think, s13 dashes fit, what about the 1990-96 300zx dashes? i only ask because i can get the dash for very cheap. and im going to re-wire the car, so my old dash has to come out anyways. if not the s13,aluminum, or original dash, has anyone made another dash work without too much effort?
  14. not exactly price friendly, but i do remember hearing from somewhere that a first gen camaro console fits nicely.but for the price you might as well just get another z console......
  15. i think you should bond on a nice chevy l88 hood scoop. had it on my camaro and it made that car.
