  1. Finally showed up today. Hope to have it in before the weekend.
  2. Still no parts. Kinda sucks to be promised parts that never materialize. Trying (unsuccessfully) to be patient. Lol 😂
  3. Went to pick up the booster that “arrived” and it turns out it didn’t. Won’t be here until Tuesday. It rained here anyway so the race would have been a bust.... next race in May.
  4. New booster arrived today. Hope to have it in and race ready for Sunday.
  5. Thanks guys. Yes the master has already been upgraded when I went willwoods. I believe it's the booster at this point..... any recommendations on the best replacement options?
  6. Ok, after all the years of owning Z's, this one in new to me..... I have an occasional very hard break pedal that I have to really push on to slow my car down. With my foot on the pedal and revving on the engine the pedal rises a bit....... Do you think my booster is going bad or the vacuum check valve? I have a race on the 15th so I'd like to get this resolved... Thanks Jim
  7. These are two of my top contenders...... I've had red before so one of these take first pick for me. I've also considered moving away from the "race" look all together and just using the black accents. Sadly, I go to bed every night flip flopping about all of it. LOL This is sweet but I'm not sure I'm that willing to commit.
  8. Ok community.... help me pick a color. I’m shooting for a paint job sometime in late June early July. My top 3 picks are GM torch red, grabber/cobalt blue, or medium gloss grey. Everything currently in grey primer, plus air dam, would get painted one of the above colors, with satin black on the hood, flares, spoiler....accents. I will leave the white/black stripe down the fenders but they will be done in vinyl. One consideration is to paint the hood body color as well then vinyl it with the stripes. Appreciate the thoughts and feedback. Jim
  9. Thanks phantom.... duly noted. I am probably pushing the limits of stress on 46 year old parts. T3 makes a very nice upgrade..... as I’ve said many times before, our cars are never really “done”. Have a great weekend. Jim
  10. I've never broken a front axle....... Don't know anyone that has either. Not sure why that popped up in my build thread, lol. I replaced my rear axles out of fear of breaking one of them at pace on track. Jim
  11. 73E90B91-D37B-4D6F-B693-3F0C2FD8E735.MOV Tail end of one run..... just to get an idea about how hard it is to put power down on a relatively mild LS1 in a 2500 car. So much freakin fun.
  12. When the tire shop did a remount of my 255 tires they tore a bead.... so I switched from the Kuhmo V720 to the Bridgestone RE71R. It’s supposed to be a much better tire..... I’ll give my review after April race. Jim
  13. Impressive parts list. Your going to need to support that chassis with that power or you’ll tear/twist it up. Looking forward to your build.
  14. I’m running long nose R200 CLSD. pain in the butt axle conversion.... but happy with it now. 3.9 ratio works great for track and autoX but will top out pretty quick if you’re going for huge speed.
  15. Finished top 5 today. I have a couple of great videos but I’m such a techno dufus I can figure how to consistently create links to full videos. Is there a way to share my Facebook videos? Quick pic from the end of the day..... I’m really loving the the new suspension parts. Jim
  16. Such a clean and well thought out build, congrats. You may want to consider heat shielding your brake fluids too. Driving hard may boil your fluid and eliminate your brakes when you need them most. Just my .02. Jim
  17. Well kind of a bummer.... the 275's rub on the flares with casual driving. I'm confident they will be much worse under race conditions. I'm running the car really low for COG and don't currently have adjustable perches for ride height adjustments. Soooooo, I'm going back to the 255 40 17 until I can adjust ride height or may just run a second set of wheels-tires with A comp rubber that has sizing to fit my current set up. AutoX this Sunday, I'll post some video when I get the chance. Jim
  18. I ran a tap over the Z sending unit and threaded it into the LS1 head passenger side near the firewall.... works great with stock gauge. I found/learned this from the HBZ site. Just forget where. It may be in my build log. Hope that helps. Jim
  19. Just don’t forget your steam vent. I tapped my water pump. Jim
  20. It didn’t help that it was cold on race day..... much less grip in cold weather.
  21. Track specs from alignment sticky. -2.75 front camber with as much caster as I could get with tire rub (I forget off the top of my head) and -2 rear camber with 1/8 toe in. My car has never turned in better..... Picking good lines pays off well but a miss step is pretty unforgiving. I went for throttle stear and lost the back end.... more rubber/traction and I would have totally nailed the line and recovered. I have a habit of overdoing it and it stops being “fun” so I’m fighting the urge to put on A7’s with a second set of wheels. Heroic mechanical grip but I have corded a new set in one season and that’s a lot of coin for a bragging rights trophy.
  22. Currently running Khumo V720 200 tread 245 front and 255 rear..... Adding Falken RT615K+ 200 tread 275 40 17 to the rear soon.
  23. Top 7 in autoX today. Car performed great, new parts made handling a dream. Driver screwed the pooch on this one. I only posted 2 times and had to DNF’s. Looking forward to wider rear tires. I lack so much mechanical grip it’s easy to over drive the car. I’ll try to post a clip soon.
