I got a 1980 280zx for free! My good friend had his transmission die in his 2001 Honda Prelude and he found this zx that a co-worker wanted to get rid of. He offered her $100 and she took him up on the offer. Then he got a raise at work and put in a new transmission in the Prelude and handed me the owners card to the zx. I have to get a key made for the car and the anticipation is killing me. Here are a couple pictures of when we went to go check out the car.

Yeah starting in '79 was the s130's which were the zx's. I just noticed that I missed the x in zx. Sorry for the confusion.

I don't have the money for it at the moment but I will definitely want one as soon as I can get enough money together. Looks great and great job I've been looking for a bumper replacement for the s130 and couldn't find anything nice.

Ah what a shame... Does anyone know of anyplace I could get a similiar kit for the s130's then?

I've got an interesting issue. I just got a 1979 280z and the lady who sold it to me doesn't have any keys. I took the owners card and VIN to a dealership and they couldn't help me. So I guess I need to go to a locksmith. I don't want to pay travel fees for a locksmith and then I remembered that it is a locking gas cap. If i take in the gas cap they should be able to recreate the key. Anyone have any ideas?

I just recently received a 1979 280zx from a friend. When I was told about the car I was told it was a 1978 which got me excited because I love the one body kit for the '78s. My question is would this body kit fit on my 1979 280zx?
