  9. Ok, I found that thread you where talking about so essential the only wires I would be using from the stock module location are the red and green ones the rest get capped off and tucked away if I am understanding this correctly and if I'm not I appogize lol
  10. Directions would be pretty well the same as installing a 280zx dizzy into a earlier z minus the actual distributor install correct? Just wanna be double sure before I do this.
  11. I put mounting issues because the only results I could find about it talked about the mounting issues. Thanks
  12. Basic question is this possible in any sort of functioning configuration? Mounting issues. Thanks
  13. PO stripped it for extra valve train parts. Didn't want to keep the head as far as I know.
  14. My p90a head is missing everything's that's why I was wondering if I could transfer from a n47 head and have a functional engine. Or would It just be easier to use the n47
  15. Sorry meant info, on my phone currently so it auto corrected. I thought that was the only difference between p90 and p90a heads was the lifters.
  16. Oh thanks for the video. The head I have is p90a actually I just said p90 because essentially that's what it will be in the end.thanks for the jnfl
  17. I have a question specific to the parts I have, and can't seem to find a definite answer. Can I use the internals of a n47 head in a p90 head put it on a n42 block and then with all the appropriate parts(turbo manifold, turbo ect) have a good running engine, or will this not even work?
  18. My gas tank has a substantial dent in it and I need a replacement. I know it's a long shot but looking for a 75-76 gas tank in good condition. It doesn't have to be perfect but anything is better then my current one. Thanks

  20. Which books would these be? I have the fsm, chiltons, Haynes, how to restore your datsun and how to modify your datsun.
  21. Just like the subject says I'm looking for info on a p90a head/n42 block combination turbo charged. My searches bring up so much conflicting info and opinions it's hard to make heads or tails. I got my hands on a p90a head, but I can't find a turbo block. Luckily I have a extra n42 block lying around. I no the head will bolt on but that's the max amount of info I can find on this specific combination, and I've been searching for a week. Any help, would be great!
  22. I was planning on the aftermarket option. I have been reading through the forums here, but I will continue to do so. These where just to main questions I have had so far. Thanks
  23. Ok so i have been toying with the idea recently of doing the VQ35DE swap into my 76. I've been doing some research, using the search function and reading everything i can find on Google but now i have a few questions. First off let me say i am getting a 2004 vq35de for free or rather i possibly will be. Anyways it comes out of a 2004 Maxima that is originally auto. My questions are as followed. 1)Will a 6 speed out of a 350z bolt up to this? 2)Will a manual harness work with this engine as it was originally in a automatic car? Thanks for the help
  24. Ok, so having issues with my 280z and with the multitude of info out there(i have been reading for the past 3 days) and the multitude of contradicting info i have found im gonna ask for definitive answer lol. Ok so my 76 is not getting any power to the coil at all, its been checked. The coil is brand new and should be good. I have done the zx alternator upgrade and i get the charging light when the key is in the on position. Sometimes i get a voltage reading sometimes i dont so i imagine something is going on there. I have read on a older post on this site that following the write up on Atlantic z car will end up with a dead battery in a few days. Thats the write up i used so i am hoping this is not gonna be the case, ill try to post pictures of what i did later. So back to the main propblem at hand, no power to the coil. I have read it could the the ignition control module on the passenger side, i have read that there is also one on the firewall above the break pedal, and i have heared there is a ballast resistor that could be bad. I have also read that ballast resistors are for points cars and a 76 280z does not have one.. this is where the contradicting info crops up. Incase it matters my ignition switch is new. So initially last year the car was having a issue with fuel so the fuel pump was replaced. Car fired right up and then as it reached temp it started to stumble, then sputter, then fail. Have not got it to start since. It was doing this before but it was thought that it was the symptoms of a pump that was on its last legs. Any help that can be given would be great... also any writeups or just general info or hell even rumor at this point to upgrade the weak points in the ignition system would be GREAT!.. Thanks alot
