    Seat Swap

    Try this: http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/88301-seat-swap-list-for-s30s/ Bryan
  2. Looking to buy a good condition fuel/volt meter as the face of mine is all burned up. Located in Ontario but have a US shipping address as well. Thanks, Bryan
  3. The risk of water build up is more at cold starts - Standard combustion by products mostly H2O and CO2. When the surfaces are cold the water vapor created in the combustion chamber can condense on them and run to the lowest point. I'm not sure if the risk is from errant readings from a wet sensor or some sort of damage to the sensor over constant wet/dry conditions. Once everything warms up this problem goes away as the water has nothing to condense on that close to the engine.
  4. From what I understand, you don't want water to collect in it. If the bung is on the bottom, closest point to the ground, then water can condense and pool in it. The orientation of the picture makes it looks like it more front than bottom. I would not relocate unless positioning doesn't work with your set up. Bryan
  5. Yea those were quick to go - All of the datsun emblems are off so now I get everybody asking what kind of car it is. Thinking about some vinyl on the bottom like this
  6. Trying to hunt down the source of the clunk and I found that the drivers side diff stub shaft has about 1/4" of end play when you pull back/forth on the outer halfshaft casing. There is no slop in u joints. Pass side has no in and out movement I've never had a Nissan diff apart before - what could be wrong and could this be the source ? Bryan
  7. Very cool - thanks for the tip - found him and his web page.
  8. Hi there - Mostly a lurker and searcher - but thought I'd post the car now that I've got it back from paint. I bought it in 2013 from a friend: http://www.zcar.com/forum/15-cars-sale-1970-83-240z-260z-280z-280zx/311359-76-280z-2-2-turbo-3950-obo-michigan.html Tinkered with it a bit, moved for work, had no time and decided to let a body shop fix the rust and paint it. I've got the wiring harness and sensors laid out for a MS2 install. In runs and drives well other than the rear end clunk and and some rattles that a 40 year old car has; which pains my OCD self to no end. I really love the color, it's a Chrysler color - Copperhead Orange. Just wish I could find a lip spoiler or similar for the back end to clean it up. Enjoy! Bryan
  9. Looking for 1 pc of http://www.zeddsaver.com/products/datsun-240z-260z-280z-door-dovetail It is part of the door jamb. My drivers side is broken from a worn hinge pin I thinks. I am located in Toronto but see family regularly from Detroit. So could source from either location. Thanks, Bryan
  10. Still looking for one? Assuming you mean this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/70-83-DATSUN-240Z-260Z-280Z-L-24-L-26-L-28-TIMING-CHAIN-COVER-WATER-PUMP-HOUSING-/221772703568?hash=item33a2aee750&vxp=mtr I've got one I can spare. Bryan
  11. Make sure any crank case ventilation is functional as well.
  12. I call them "craigslist people" for a reason. But seriously John's right, the minute I see anything that appears overseas or foreign I don't even bother to reply. Maybe of the 100 or so emails i've gotten over the years one is genuine; but most of the time they are not. Scams are so frequent it's easy to just ignore them.
  13. not my ad http://houston.craigslist.org/pts/4883615914.html Bryan
  14. All set with cowl, still need fenders and could be in need of a 2+2 gas door patch panel. Thanks bryan

    76 Datsun 2+2

Prep for paint and minor restore
  16. I'm in process of restoring a 76 2+2. The wiper cowl has the start of some thru holes but is in repairable condition. Looking for no rust no dents. Will get painted. Also I cut out some of the sheet metal from around the gas door filler due to perforation. If anybody has this area that a patch panel can be cut from let me know and we'll coordinate pictures through email. Also looking for both fenders - no perforation rust, minor dents ok. Looking for local to Houston/Austin area. thanks bryan
  17. Race car club I was involved with for many ears had one of these: http://www.eagleequip.com/automotive-shop-equipment/2-post-car-lifts.html Only lift I've really worked with, but always did the job. Our SCCA (ITA) CRX race cars needed to be jacked up to fit the arms under the lift points, while a similar prepped 81 RX7 did not. YMMV. Bryan
  18. Would this wing fit both the coupe and 2+2? edit: Looks like a ZX wing, any chance the profile is close enough to fit an S30 2+2? Bryan
  19. I am looking for options on 2+2 spoiler/wings. I bought the only one I could find specific to the car from zstore.com and it had a terrible fit, 3/4" gaps at the corners. After some back and forth with customer service it was decided that their vendor didn't know what was going on and that it might take a few months for them to get it squared away. As much as it pains me to admit it, even the aluminum/CF wings look good to me on the back of a Z, I'd like to find one that somebody has used before committing to one. Are there any other options out there? I've spent lots of time looking but it seems like slim pickings.
