  2. Here is tooquick260 last dyno pull. We just went through the motor and are working on the tune. Re-used the 260 block and bored out for 280zx pistons and crank. As the donor motors parts looked better. So new piston rings, bearings, ARP bolts, cometic head gasket 4 mil to get the compression back down to 8.4 from 9.0. Issue in dyno time was loosing signal from TPS and turbo not holding boost. We could only get it to hold 11lbs boost and would put down 210 hp and 229 tq. Not bad but 2014 we pulled 289 hp and 309tq but ended up roasting the bearings and losing the motor. Me the tuner was trying to get more with timing and went totally the wrong way and the knock started. The stock turbo as most have experienced cant hold the pressure as the internal waste gate spring just is not sufficient. We went up to 18 lbs of boost but at about 3600 rpm , 18 lbs would show and then drop right off to 12 lbs boost and fluctuate between 10 and 12 lbs. Watching the graph on playback would show 268 hp 292 tq for an instant then fall off. So here is the best with did with nothing going crazy. 224 hp at 4700 rpm, 255 tq at 4500 rpm Parts and pieces: P90 head with a Schneider Stage 1 cam 260z block bored for 280z pistons MS3Pro ecu 500cc injectors msd electric fuel pump AEM TruBoost Controller stock turbo T3 stock turbo intake stock turbo exhaust manifold 2 1/2 down pipe and exhaust through generic round muffler 2 1/2 inch inlet 4 inch outlet Intercooler ACT type stage II clutch S15 6 speed tranny Q45 3.53 rear diff
  3. Our engine moves enough that the valve cover hits the cross bar from the coilovers during dyno pulls.
  4. I bought and received the distributor carbon fiber cover. Looks awesome. Will post pics in tooquick260's blog about the install when we get to that point. I am selling the house in Orlando and moving all our stuff to Savannah. tooquick is coming as well with his fleet of 4 cars. That move will be in the next month. Wife and I are moving onto the sailboat soon leaving tooquick with everything. Good luck with the house project, similar to us. Going from 2200 sq ft to a 40' 2 cabin sail boat!
  5. Thanks for the info. We are using a Nissan 240sx throttle body. Throttle cable is a universal cable in sheath. Has the boxed ended input into the 240sx. Gas pedal arm is attached to the cable. Here are a few pictures. Kinda gives idea on what we did to change the linkage over to a cable and modern cam gear drive.
  6. My vote is for the MS3Pro. It was simple, just make sure you know what your doing with the tune. Can be an expensive learning curve.

  8. Yes detonation. I was trying to do some fine tuning and totally screwed up timing. We used MS3PRo and well worth the money. Will grow as you need it.
  9. We hit those numbers with using the stock turbo. Issues are that the turbo will spike and dampner for the internal waste gate will not hold above 12lbs. We made 280hp, 310 tq. Ended up loosing the bottom end because of tune. New build is right there at your numbers.   10. Budget is the biggest thing. We went with the Techno Toy Tuning suspension http://echnotoytuning.com/. Other option is Arizona Z Car http://www.arizonazcar.com/ .Pricey but will get all that you need. Brakes are a big discussion. You can go to the toyota front caliper upgrade and the maxima rear caliper conversion. Or go with Techno toy tuning brake option. Most of those have all been discussed in this website. Welcome and let the hybriding commence!
  11. Have made a few trips to Orlando since. Driven 260 and helped work on the drive ability. Got the steady rpm cruising smoother just some messaging of the afr. Helped with the tip in as well and the off throttle deceleration. On decel it was loading up rich and getting a lot of back fire blurble. Leaning out the low rpm afr with 0 to 10% throttle helped that. now the oil supply to turbo is puking and it will not hold boost steady. Well time for a change there. Tooquick is looking a new Garrett
  12. Reading at 0 throttle is 220 and at full throttle is 1238. Is that correct? Keep losing signal, have traced it through a spade connector that was loose. Once I have reset the signals is as above readings. Throttle application seems accelerated, as in 1/3 is half.
  13. I would suggest reading the megasquirt manuel. Check all diagnostics. i.e. tps reading o2 reading map sensor crank sensor Then check for any vacuum leaks, proper fuel pressurse. My recent issue was tps was losing power and would affect driveability off idle. Hope that helps

  17. Hmmmm, lets see it bolted up. Looks stong enough. I know our little 250hp moves the motor and tranny around alot. Cant imagine 600+HP!
  18. Good catch. We lost a motor last year and had no noise of detonation, but tearing down motor showed major signs of detonation.
