  1. So did you have success on finding detonation issue?
  2. I need a black speedo cog from a manual 280zx transmission. Just swapped rear diff gears from 4.09 to 3.53 gear. Thanks
  3. Yes then N/A automatic z32 comes with a 4.09 rear gear. We just took ours out, put in a 3.53 rear diff from a 1997 q45. I don't think tooquick260 will sell his.
  4. Great job.I missed this build some how. When we get done sailing I will build one of these, 10 years. Rb30 block, rb26 head ITB fuel injection, 6 speed tranny. Dream machine.
  5. Oh yeah the parking brake cables. I had to fab a connectiob block to those grafting them to the s30 brakes.
  6. We used the Technotoytuning rear setup to run the 230dif. You can pick n choose there parts for what you need. I think arizona z car has a similar setup. Get the dif, axles and rear brakes from z32. Techno Toy Tuning rear mustache bar and the backing plates. You should be able to use everything you have. Have to send them axles so they can shorten them. We are very happy with the service and quality the give.
  7. Yes L6 turbo motor. Using brand new stock motor mounts. 250 hp.
  8. Boost at 5200 rpm is almost down to 11lbs. I will see if tooquick can post the full run with info as a dat file
  9. So took the z to dyno past weekend. Motor is moving or stretching the drivers mount about 3 inches. Thus is during hard acceleration. Also the shifter moves far enough to the right or rotate that a rapid shit 2nd to 3rd does not engage. What has everyone done about motor mounts and tranny mounts. Are u using stock or self made? I think one issue we have is the mid tranny mounts are piggy backed because of the 6 speed s15 tranny. The mount bolts to the tranny but is 6 inches further to the rear. Any wisdom and experiences appreciated. Don't want to goto polyurethane mounts as it brings in to much transfer of harmonics and vibrations.
  10. Idk, could be. Just didn't take time. I talked to a few people including wilwood. All said can't make work with S30 because of the weight difference. Car is 2300lbs compared to 3300lbs of the z32. I feel that the s130 280zx bmc is over powering as well.
  11. From one who helped doing this to a 260z. Ours is a 11/74 model. We did the TechnoToyTuning rear setup, Z32 brakes all around. To do it over again the Toyota front calipers and maxima rear is the best bang for buck. Lots of write up on that here. Enine swap comes to hp wants. Did the turbo 280zx added to our 260z block. Blew that up. Now second guessing should have done a ls1 V8 swap. Good luck.
  12. We put the entire z32 brake system on the 74 z. Used T3 Rear setup. Used a vendor on hear bought the Honda Odessey front rotors machined for the z32 front callipers. The master cylinder from the z32 was way over boosted. Initial brake application had immediate lock up. We switched to the 280zx master cylinder, system works well. Has a little to quick braking. Will be trying different pads to see if that will soften the innitial bites.
  13. Great job staying on track. Jobs and projects are alike. They seem to come and go. What are plans on body. Are you going flares or stock fenders
  14. We like narrowing down the projects. Tooquick has all his cars running. 4 now, But there is always the unknown. Projects change and keeling focused on one goal. Son dragged me to pick n pay today. We yanked a rear axle out of a 94 pathfinder so he could put it in his 90 hardbody he just picked up. Congrats on the record runs. Keep up the hard work.
  15. Hung the 3.53 rear diff today. Typical issues of not a straight bolt in. Tooquick taking to dyno on Saturday. Stay tuned.
  16. If u keep distributor , run the megasquirt replacement disc. You either make your wire connections, use the stock by cutting and splicing or buy a harness. The MS3 I did on tooquick260 had all the wiring labeled. Solder them onto appropriate items and it works.
  17. The yard is full of Nissans. Avg age is 27.5. Older than tooquick260!
