Ahh, good. I'll try to take care of this tomorrow then.
  2. Apparently, I'm the owner of the sole 1975 Datsun 240Z in the world. I looked at my papers from the DMV to get a number off them, and just realized that the lady marked it as a 75 I'm afraid of calling anyone about it because I don't want to go through a long papertrail. Anyone had experience with this before?
  3. When you're going for reacceleration though, twins>single. That's the application I'm looking for. Not top end, not big power, just a very wide, very usable, very fast power band. Also, my concern with the manifold design wasn't the whole equal length issue. When I'm not a Nissan guy, I'm a Subaru guy. I hate equal length designs. Since it's a carb setup that isn't regulated by any electronics, I'd wonder if any boost surge would occur because of the different lengths. I'm completely new to the basics of carbs, and even moreso to their advanced setups. We can argue single vs twins in another thread if you like, I'd just like answers related to the topic at hand here. With that said, the only other twin turbo manifold I've ever seen was one made by Greddy some time before I was even concieved. A custom setup would most likely be the only answer in this case, but, I am a noob at welding as well. All I've been able to do thusfar was stitchweld by chassis using a fairly basic 1/10 mig I found on craigslist. Does anyone have any pics of successful twin turbo manifolds?
  4. There's a difference between cheaping out and looking for a good product at a good price. If I had all the money in the world, I doubt I would've bothered to make the thread. Thanks man. I'd appreciate the drawings for the spacer. Any place I can save money will help push the car forward. Much appreciated. I always thought that any OEM parts from a later model Z would be suffecient, since they'd be stopping something that weighs hundreds of pounds less than what they were designed for. The only real concern would be whether or not you'd be able to clear your wheels. I know we can use spacers for that, but when I was big into 240sx's a lot of guys that ran spacers ended up repeatedly damaging their hubs. I miss my 240sx, it's funny that the only other car I've liked as much as it is also a 240, just a different kind.
  5. If I ever got a 350Z, I'd murder it. Gut it out completly. Too bad I don't have 15-20gs to dump on such a project
  6. Yea. I'll never sell my 240Z. The 280 on the other hand, is up for grabs.
  7. Well, this is new to me. All my other cars had electric pumps, and I'd ditch them for mechanical ones, lol. I'm going to be wiring in an electric fuel pump (link @ the bottom is the pump), and from what I've read, 240Z's came with mechanical ones. Do people wire it to a switch? Also, if someone has a repair manual for one handy, I would love to purchase it. All stores around me don't stock or order them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&viewitem=&item=160257679328

Anyone ever had any experience with them? The last thing I want to do is cheap out on brakes, you know?
  9. I'll take a look tomorrow. Do you by chance have a picture of what you're talking about? The carb wasn't leaking until I went on a little road trip and drove for a straight 2-3 hours. Possibly got stuck from there?
  10. The front carb started leaking out of the filter. Somehow I also think it's a syncing issue, but I'm trying to switch to triple mikuni's soon, so I haven't really looked into it.
  11. I've actually got a spare sender with that new tank. Hope it works :-/
  12. Pretty sure it's the float. I'm replacing the fuel tank, fuel lines, and fuel pump. Is the float part of the fuel pump? I know that this is kind of a noobish thing to ask, but I can't find the service manual anywhere to be able to just look it up.
  13. Well, I've got fuel, I've got spark, I've got air (had to check), and the timing is on. Any ideas?
  14. I had this same issue with my 240Z on the way home, then I got a leaky carb. Related?
  15. Checked all connections. Gonna spend some time on it in the morning and post whatever I find.
