  1. I'm in Walker, LA and have one for sale. It's more than the $1000, it's in the $5000 range but very small rust issues and a great car. Just an FYI since we are relatively close.
  2. I have one from a 76, it has one pin left on the back(the center one). I have no idea how much to ask though, I can't even find one to compare in a quick search.
  3. Do you have a picture of what you're needing. I have a pair of 76 doors out in my garage
  4. I like the car, what I would say is that the customization gives you some leverage in bartering. The front bumper mod, the exhaust, the hood are all things that are very particular to a persons taste and therefore limits the number of potential buyers. I know you said it's a great deal for California and someone else said they'd offer 9k. I'd probably offer 8,000 and not feel like I was low balling. They really are limited to number of potential buyers. The engine makes it worse. I love the 383, I have a 350 myself but the SBC engine appeals to less and less buyers. You're taking some risk with all the customization, don't feel bad about paying as little as you can.
  5. Thanks guys, lots of great advice. I found a local 1979 280zx that I can pick up for cheap. I'm thinking I may get that so I will have all of the parts I need for the r200 conversion. I like the idea of upgrading the bushings as well. The car has a 700r4 so it's looking like the R200 makes the most sense at this point. I've had the Ron Tyler diff mount from Technovisions laying around for a while so the r200 still allows me to use that. Seems like it's all coming into place.
  6. My car flooded back in August, water all the way over the roof. My home also flooded and I lost both of the keys as well. I purchased one of these ignition and key sets off of ebay as a replacement. http://www.ebay.com/itm/IGNITION-SWITCH-STARTER-KEYS-SET-FIT-FOR-DATSUN-FAIRLADY-240Z-260Z-280Z/160976339870?_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150313114020%26meid%3D796912b7eea645c0bcc4f8e61d45ed04%26pid%3D100338%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D14%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D141873901731#rwid I also replaced the dash harness. When I turn the key to the start position I'm getting no power the the black/yellow wire at all. I assume this is going to be a switch issue but wanted to ask. I do have power to the White/Red cable throughout the start process. Any ideas besides the brand new switch would be helpful before I send it back. Thanks Stephen
  7. Thanks for the advice guys. Unfortunately I did have about 5 feet of water in the house so I spent most of today pulling everything out of it. I did get to pull the drain plug and the transmission pan. The oil looked really milky. Tomorrow I'm going to pull the carb and the fuel cell. Thanks for all of the advice. The interior is a complete loss obviously but there are a couple things I can save. Best part, I had a parts car at my dads house and it went under too. Here is a picture of mine, I tried to jack it up before I left but it didn't do any good. http://imgur.com/a/apMHN
  8. Hey guys, I'm in South louisiana and my house and car just got flooded. It's a 71 with the sbc. The water came up so fast and when we had to leave it was already too high to drive it out. I put it up on stands and hoped for the best. Water completely covered the top of the car and it was likely submerged for about 24 hours. It was mostly a complete project but I was about to put ac in it. While in project mode though, I was only carrying liability. I assume it's a loss except for the body but I figured I would ask.

    Seat Swap

I'll respond because I've never seen anybody with my seats. Someone gave me a pair of seats that's came out of a 2013 Mustang GT. They came with huge brackets on the bottom that made them go up and down lean forward and back. The reclining functions were all done with a standard lift handle though and sliding forward and back were the same as well. I pulled off the brackets and their is a metal brace on the bottom of the seats. I was able to bolt my stock z brackets to the bottom of the seats and then mount them in the car. The driver side fits perfect but the passenger side is a little close to the door. The other con is that there are some switches built into the seat that do not work. I actually have them out of the car right now doing some painting and electrical work but if you're interested. I'll take some pictures when I put them back in later today.
  10. 1971 240z I pulled these from the car. Not sure if they work. I could test the blower motor if its worth enough but the guy I bought the car from said it all worked before a motor swap. It would include all There are only a couple examples on ebay and they don't seem to have any bites so they are probably too high. Just wondering if you guys could give me some idea of what they might be worth. Thanks Stephen Heater Core Part No. 21705-E4401 Blower Motor 27070-E4405 Evaporator
  11. My wheel well or the wheel well on these cars? If mine, in what way? I know I have wiring and seatbelt stuff in the picture or do you mean the way they widened it?
  12. I saw that, I knew it was different from my 73 but I wasn't sure if that was a year difference or something else. I knew that some work had been done and with this confirmation it seems to be a whole lot. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I knew the car was being built as a dragster but it seems like there was a whole lot more done to it than I thought.
  13. Thanks for the response, here is a picture of what it looks like in there. http://imgur.com/EQvqgpv
  14. Alright, I just stole the vinyl wheel well and shock Tower vinyl from my 73 to put on my series 1 71. But when I went to add it the wheel well is way wider in the 71. I can't find anything about a difference? There are some modifications to the rear hatch area but this doesn't seem to be a modification. Anybody have any idea if the earlier versions were different in this respect?
  15. This is what I'm talking about, I will need to invent it first but it will make an excellent addon. Other things I'm considering. Driver and Passenger side seatbelt reminder lights, rear view backup camera, fog lights, map lights, cubby hole, interior light switches, and a dummy switch marked rocket booster.
  16. Here is a picture of what I currently have before I put it in the car but I'm in the process of changing it up right now. I used PVC board to build that piece which I will do again but this time I'm incorporating it with the console and moving the stereo up as it's behind the shifter like that. http://i.imgur.com/raY76d0.jpg
  17. Map lights would be cool as well as fog lights, no NOS or cool stuff like that though on my car. Here are a couple of pictures, unfortunately they aren't on the car. The holes on the horizontal piece are where the visors would go to kind of help you get your bearings on how they would go in. http://i.imgur.com/lb6QWW5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yhRQDnR.jpg
