  1. The car would suffer for gas and when I would drive it wouldn't accelerate. When I changed my mechanical fuel pump I bought it for auto zone and it is not a remanifactured fuel pump. Yes I do have a stock air cleaner. Thank you very much!

  3. I has a 72 240z all original. I had to change my fuel pump because it wasn't delivering enough gas. Now as I changed it I get too much gas. And it is mechanical fuel pump from autozone. Every time I drive it I smell gas so I check the carbs and when I took off the air cleaner gas pooled up and fell and when I took off the top of my SUs they were flooded. I did check the fuel jet adjustment and its correct to my knowledge. From books I was told two full turns. And I'm lost. Help? I'll answer more questions if needed. Thank you.

  5. I have a 72 240z it will start well and give no problems and after it heats up it begins to back fire and die and when it dies it starts hard and when it does start I'll put it into gear and it will die once in gear. I'm kinda lost. Any advice helps.
  6. Let me clarify. I have a 240z all original but I have a p90a head an I'm wondering if I can use the p90 head instead of the original head to just get a little more power out of the car no I am not going turbo. If I can change the head I'm just going to put SU's back on and if I can't change the head then I'll just sell it. Is it possible? And if so will it run correctly?
  7. I have a 240z and everything is pretty much original but I have a p90 head am I able to use the head? I'm wondering because I'm not sure if the setup on a p90 head has to be fuel injection and I just have original SUs. And I don't want to take off the head unless I really have to.
  8. Well actually my plugs were black my car was running too rich I've done the whole nine with my SUs clean them rebuilt them lubericate all that needed to be air screws idle screw all good! Also I have checked my fuel filter it's good but I do have to change it often for there was clean in my tank that I cleaned out. Plus I might have forgot to mention it's an autozone fuel pump from china so I'm not sure. Thank you guys though!

I have noticed as I drive my 72 240z with an E88 engine when I attempt to drive the car hard the engine starts to slow down and it starts to stutter and when it starts to do so I'll floor the gas pedal it and it wont respond to the gas pedal until I release the pedal slow down then it drives fine. It tends to die out more often when going up hills. My idea is the fuel pump isn't giving enough gas or the distributor isn't giving enough spark but I'm not sure what is the problem. Any ideas?
