  1. I ended up going with this Kool Radiators because it was cheap and was at first skeptical at it, but when the package arrived, even my certified mechanic, was surprised. The welds weren't perfectly done, but hey for under $200 shipped I wasn't looking for perfection. What I have to say though is how this radiator cools. Wide on throttle through the mountains I find my temperature gauge never exceeding operating temp. Through town and in city driving, I barely have to even turn on my auxiliary fan. Partially it's due to my 160 degree thermostat, but as a test we let the car get near max temp and turn the fan on to see how long it would take get just below half, and timed it was about 3 minutes. That was VERY impressive. I unfortunately didn't have enough money to buy a shroud, and the ghetto fan setup (mounting it on the fins) seems to be working okay even with the constant g-forces encountered driving mountain roads and autocross. I am EXTREMELY happy with my purchase and cannot recommend a higher quality radiator for the price. There is only one thing to say: BUY IT! I would say call 714-599-3336 (ask for Brent). Fast shipping and good product! Here's a few pics:
  2. For San Diego area Z car owners, I've taken my Sentra Spec V over to Black Mountain Collision. They are a bit pricey, but they do excellent work. I'm going to get a quote on the Z later on in the summer
  3. Sorry I forgot to mention Rockauto, they carry the part, but they said it's out of stock and will be delayed several days as well (up to 8 days). It's a suck!
  4. Hi folks, I've been searching high and low for a Dorman Rear Right Wheel Cylinder (part number W96879. I have the left one, and if possible I'd rather not mix brands. I have tried the following places and honestly am out of options unless you guys know of one that I'm obviously missing. MSA - says they have one so I'm waiting on confirmation they have one in stock before buying. Kragen - site is down, but they didn't have the dorman one but a different one. Autozone - no thanks..cheapo parts (Brakeware) NAPA - don't even carry and can't get it CarQuest - no luck there either. If you guys can help me out, I'd really appreciate it!! If you guys have one of your own cars that's for sale, please let me know!! I want to get my car running by the end of the month!, quite possibly sooner!!
  5. So umm are you saying that you have a car that's Freddy Flinstone worthy??
  6. Yeah which is why I'm looking at other options..I love this site...SOOO much damn info about everything!
  7. Okay folks, I'm in San Diego and am willing to drive a ways to pick up the right car. Here's just a few requirements. 1) be running 2) have most parts 3) as little rust as possible...some stuff is okay, just not rusted through where we'd have to go Freddy Flinstone in the floor pan 4) be manual preferrably 5speed. Please let me know what you have to offer!
  8. Gonna pick up a '73 soon and need some bumpers! Anyone recommend any place I can get a set?
  9. Engine and harness are off a 1st gen 280zx turbo. Thanks for the info. Once my friend found out about the turbo motor, he did say that the car should be able to make it here. I've been searching around to get the L28 back to Turbo which would be badass...will make for an interesting autocross car haha
  10. Dude we gotta post some pictures of the most recent intake setup. One of our team members did a phenomenal job routing a 240sx intake to the front of the car for a very clean setup!
  11. Hi all, I've actually spoken to a guy in Tucson and arranged for a sale for his 73 240Z with a L28E-T swap...less the turbo (been converted to N/A temporarily). I have a question... Right now the car is running the turbo injectors with a cam (he said it was 60 over or so) and he said it runs and hauls ass but runs rich. I spoke to my friend who is an avid Z car guy and he said that the Z won't be able to be driven down here to San Diego in current condition. The injectors would need to be swapped out, otherwise there might be gas that gets into the crank case, or cylinder flooding and would cause all kinds of hell. He mentioned this after he found out that it was an L28. I didn't know at the time it was off actually a turbo motor. The question is this: To get the car to run to San Diego, would the turbo injectors need to be switched out with the regular L28 injectors in the parking lot before cruising home? If so, will the ECM actually compensate for that the fact that injectors are different? My brother's BMW 325is has this feature, but I wasn't sure if the Z's are simliar. If there's a post where I can find the answer, please let me know. I'm eager to learn about this and am excited to get in with the Z community. Thanks! Kaustav
