  3. Got the JCI mount and compressor had them put the AC stuff by the alternator. Made hose and ran a relay to turn the compressor on via the computer. HTH, Richard.
  4. I sent my 04 GTO harness off and for $400 they dieted it. Gave me a harness that needed 4 wires plus ground Hot, ign hot, fan and fuel pump. They also left in AC, VSS (speedo) and Tach. The LS1 computer runs the AC through the GTO ac pressure switch. I used a new harness for the rest of the car. If using the Z harness most of wires are there just need to be sifted through, for example IGN hot can be coil. My suggestion is if you are not really good at this type of stuff, get some help. It was by far the most intimidating part of the job. JMHO, Richard.
  5. If Honda is correct and it is significantly bigger, then it is doubt it will fit. The T56 in my car is tight. Could not fill through the Reverse light fill because it could not be removed. Jacked up the back a lot and filled in the fill hole until I had the right amount in it. HTH, Richard.
  6. I found a guy in CA who made them. One of the retail guys who makes dune buggy axles gave his number since only sold certain lengths. I measured the distance and then he made them. I have his number but can't find the exact amount, and in all honesty I don't remember how much they were but I think they were about 250 a pair. BUT DON'T HOLD ME TO THAT. By dealing with the machining guy they were less than retail, I did have to wait a while but I was ok with that. I would have to call him to ask if I could give out his number and it has been about a year. I think since we are also in the industry he did me a favor. HTH, Richard.
  7. I followed Will, I follow Spitsnaugle and very much applaud your efforts. I have an LS1 powered 240Z and it already has an 8.8 in it. The 8.8 is from a Lincoln MK 8. I used the TTT front mount which is for a Q45 and is dimensional almost exactly an 8.8. Had to trim the drive shaft area little We made the rear mount which is really cobbled together but so far has held up. Bought DSS output stubs for the diff side and they are off the shelf to 930 CV. I bought 930 CV to Z flanges and then had custom axles made. I know the outer stubs are my weak link and have a set of 280z stubs waiting for winter project time (discs, springs etc. will happen at the same time). In short the only thing left Z is those outer stubs, which if/when they break I will just buy good ones. From the outside the car looks like a stock 240z with ZX wheels, which was the goal for me. We chose to keep it simple. Not re invent the wheel. I would like a better rear mount but the Z car Depot seems expensive, Spitnaugle is on the right track but need to find out pricing from him when he is done. If someone comes up with even better, great. Keep working on it. R.
  8. We opted to keep the well and modify the tank so it has an EFI pump in it. Less work for us, but you could obviously hand either. R
  9. Not sure how I missed this. GREAT work. I have an 8.8 in my car but cobbled the mount waiting for someone to made a decent one. WINNER WINNER. Spitnaugle if there are any questions let me know. We have a lot of fabrication done locally, if you need a bid let me know. We laser a lot of stuff, all the time, (search North racecars inc ). Great job. Richard.
  10. When the finished project is done if the pre work in any indication it will be stunning. R
  11. Any decent voltmeter will have a continuity tester on it. Test all the wires to see if the connector at the firewall has continuity with wire where the sensors plug in. Also check voltages, I could guess but LS1 Tech will have them for sure. Hope the link works it was the first one I found. 12. Ohm out the wires on the O2 sensor or replace the sensor. Based on what is said above there is a chance the O2 sensors are not the correct ones. HTH, R.
  13. I have virtually the same shafts with 240Z stubs for now and the adapter from the 930 to Z stubs 280 stubs later. The 930 CV are the standard of the industry. 03/4 cobra guys use them up to 800 hp. Great upgrade. Now I need (ok want) those arms. Richard.
  14. I have the Ammeter hooked up. Running a different tach and speedo but kept all the other gauges. Run the wire from the alternator to the ammeter and then to the fuse box. I used a EZ wire for the chassis so my experience is a little different. In your car basically the white/red wires (big ones) run to the gauge, hook up the alternator wire there and the ammeter should work. HTH, Richard.
  15. Most alternator wires (charging) go to the battery or post from the alternator to the starter post from battery to alternator and are 10 gauge. This should not be confused with the starter wire which runs from the battery to the starter which is battery cable. HTH R
