  1. Back when JC Whitney used to have a Z section, they offered a 1 piece front end (hood and fenders) along with a hinge kit to open it. It was priced at $699 when I last saw it in the mid-nineties. Has anyone ever seen or used one of these? Does anyone know where to get one now? I can't imagine a tool/ mold large enough to make this would just be thrown out, would it?
  2. Here is a '78 280Z I did 15 years ago and then sold a few years later. I'm still planning and saving for the next one...
  3. Is the small block in your model scale? I have been trying to find a SBC 3D model to go along with the scale 3D S30 I am working on. Do you have any vehicle measurements outside of what is in the service manual? I want to make an accurate 3d model of a V8 Zcar. BTW - great work on the twin turbo... that will be my next build (I have been planning it for a few years now, just trying to get the cash together). One question though, is the paint on your hood discoloring or peeling with the turbos so close?
  4. I too have been pondering the idea of recreating an accurate Z body in Solidworks. I started doing the same thing with my FSM to recreate the body/ frame mounting points but I no longer have my Z to reference some of the sheetmetal. I think that it may be possible to convert some of the renderings into CAD data. I know I can convert my Solidworks files into 3DSmax using the .stl format but I do not recall if it can be converted the other way. I also do not have 3DSmax installed on my computer any more. blue72 - what are the file types that maya can be exported as? i wonder if your models can be imported into Solidworks in order to modify into real CAD files with exact measurements...
