  1. Hey guys, Im looking for a project car with an LS engine, can be installed or not, running or not, mainly just looking for a good starting point, thanks, budget is $5000-10,000 depending on condition and options.

  2. Hey guys im in the process of getting rid of some of the extra cars at my shop, i simply have too many. I have project 240zs, 260zs, 280zs, and 280zxs in various shape, the price range for these projects range from 1500- 3000. Some are pretty rough but others are in decent shape, ill try to add as many pics as i can but it would be easier to describe them over the phone, my number is 770-361-8955. Here is the link to my photo album with most of the cars https://www.flickr.com/photos/126770...57698743472894 I have a warehouse full of datsun parts and I have almost any part available for these cars for a reasonable price. I can also arrange transportation and delivery with a shipper i trust, happy to work with exporters as well!

    1974 Datsun 260z 2+2-$1800
It will need rust repair in many areas including the floors, exterior places and battery tray. The engine is complete and original, I have not tried to crank the car at all so im not sure of the engine condition., this car is a unmolested 260 and a perfect project for someone!

    1974 Datsun 260z complete car-$2000
the car is mostly complete and restorable, but will need a lot of work.I have not tried to crank the car at all so im not sure of the engine condition. The front fenders were cut for flares which I will include, there is some rust along the rear lower quarters but the car is overall solid and a cheap, entry level, project for someone.

1974 Datsun 260z with flares and triple webers- $2500
Complete car that has a vintage race car look to it with flares and a whale tail, will need floors and paint and bodywork, triple weber engine and 5 speed trans from zx, was running a couple of weeks ago but the fuel pump stopped getting power

    1975 Datsun 280z parts car-$1000
no fenders, rolling but rough, has 280z engine with n42 head.

    1972 Datsun 240z rough project-$2500
rusty but complete and original, will need floors but good frame and battery tray

    1971 Datsun 240z solid rolling chassis-$3000
was a v8 car, very solid with good frame, battery tray, floor, and spare tire well.

    1976 Datsun 280z solid rolling chassis-$2500
very solid with good frame, battery tray, floor, and spare tire well.

  4. A nice 260z shell,*It has been sandblasted and stripped down but the suspension was placed back on it and the steering column. *The engine is also in the car bolted down, but can be removed if someone wants a clean slate for an engine swap and I can reduce the price. I do have all the pieces for the car, including the dash and wiring, glass and other pieces. Car is overall*solid with minor spots on the outside, but it will need floor pans and the spare tire well was cut for a fuel cell. Battery tray is solid and so are the rockers and sill plate areas, frame rails are also perfect. Overall this would be a perfect start for someone wanting to build a clean Datsun or do a cool engine swap. Asking 3500$ Located in auburn ga.

  5. Can you give some details on your fuel system?

It's the Fitech power adder 600hp, the power adder version is built for boost applications it can handle 25 lbs blow through or draw through and nitrous. I'm still running the mechanical pump on the engine and the stock tank with no extra pump, what I used instead was a Fitech fuel command center which boosts the pressure up for fuel injection applications, basically it allows you to keep using your stock pump and everything.
  6. I love the ease and simplicity of FiTech units....not to mention they are significantly cheaper than the competition.  After doing 2 megasquirt builds, I'll be going FiTech for anything EFI N/A and seriously considering them for boosted applications as well.

Just installed the fi tech power adder (boosted version) and it works great for my build, runs on the first crank. I'm running a vortech v3 supercharger on a 327. It's really crazy how smart the set up is and how easy it is, definitely will use Fitech in the future.

  7. Well I finished the wiring today it still needs to be neatened and trimmed but it's there. Still have to hook up the fuel command center and some other misc. items so in short, could not start it today because I have to go back to school. Although I almost finished it, attempting this in one weekend was a little overwhelming lol.

  8. Made a fair amount of progress today, welded and hooked up the o2 sensor. Hooked up a lot of the other wires only have like 3 left. Things left to do, change distributor to a conventional 2 wire dist (msd pro billet), wire in the coil, bolt in, plumb and wire the fuel command center, and wire to the battery. The reason why im changing from an HEI distributor to a 2 wire one is to utilize the timing control feature from the Fitech unit and also to handle boost. So basically I need to lock the advance on the distributor and phase the rotor 10 degrees (reminds me of when I turbocharged my vw rail buggy lol). So all in all I hope to crank it up tomorrow but who knows shit happens lol

  9. Made some more progress today on the vortech install but ran into a few problems, also installed the fitech today and hooked up some wires but not all. Overall it looks like a great system very clean and simple but wiring isn't my strong suit. Hoping to have the install finished up and cranked on Monday or Tuesday.

  10. The patina on your car definitely works. I think the car looks good and if the car is basically rust free, I would hold up on the paint job and focus on basic repairs and the performance side first. It is amazing how much money you can pour into these things.

So true, I've put a lot into the internals but I'm waiting on the paint job
  11. Well, you chose a dam good car to start out with at such a early age. Sounds like you have the smarts to turn it into a thumper. Just do alot of reading here on HZ, and you will learn what and how to make it a sweet ride... :2thumbs:

Thanks man much appreciated. I love reading all the articles on here it's the quickest way to learn anything but I kinda freaked out when I found nothing on a vortech install but I just sorta pieced it together and guessed lol
  12. I've decided to do a write up of my datsun and its evolutions in hopes that it can help people who want to tackle similar projects. My search began for a datsun when i was 17 (I'm 18 now) i had saved up some cash and wanted something cheap and fast. The idea of a v8 in a 240 seemed like a match made in heaven to me so i narrowed my search to that and found one. Although it was cheap it ran and drove and had a chevy 327 in it with a good cam, but had some problems i wanted to address. But, i would like to add that the car was very original (except the engine) and it had zero rust. first off, it had a 2 barrel carb on the stock iron intake manifold, why they would go to all the trouble of the swap and then not change to a four barrel is beyond me. so i quickly ordered a edelbrock alum intake and edelbrock 4 barrel. through the next couple of months i fixed things here and there, added carpet, cleaned things up, but mostly tried to get it to run perfect (sorry lost the pics of what it looked like originally). Later i changed the wheels and tires from the stock steelies to bassett 15x8s and some dunlop performance tires. then i decided that i wanted to add a twist to it so i used the money i had saved to buy a weiand 144 (against my fathers wishes lol), while the mini blower was good, there were some draw backs, first it had low end torque but petered out, second i would have to cut open the hood and ruin the sleeper look i was going after. So after some research and selling my 144 set up i bought a vortech v3 centrifugal supercharger which i am currently still installing. As for fuel, i bought the Fitech power adder 600, which can handle 25 lbs of boost and is self managed. i will add pics here as i update because i have a lot of changes coming up soon (350z leather seats, tokico springs, air dam, and possibly paint). i have yet to paint the car although i might soon but as of now i think it has a cool patina. i will also try to be detailed about the vortech install because i have yet to find a write up of one in a 240.
