  1. Mine just came in, won't be able to test fit them for a while, but they look great! Thanks again for arranging this 1 tuff z.
  2. Looks like same rims and color, but the SS hood is gone. edit: Actually I think the color was a lighter silver.
  3. Saw a 240z there so it has my approval.
  4. Front airdam looks like a modified MSA II piece: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/7FAD/50-1426 And the rear wing, all I can think of is a universal one or a modified f40 wing.
  5. Always loved your avatar or sig pic, can't remember which one, but it was the silver 280 with the SS hood scoop.
  6. They look identical to me, from what I can tell. Plus it looks like the type 1 isn't even offered any more.
  7. 2+2, but you get the idea. I bought the sideskirts from some other guy 10 years ago, but I'm pretty sure they're the type II from MSA.
  8. You know you own a Datsun when you talk yourself out of buying a newer, reliable sports car by saying, "But just think of what I could do to the Z with that much money."
  9. Glad to hear I'm not alone. I've been taking classes from '03 to '10 studying medicine / anesthesia, then I started doing internship in the hospital and realized working on people wasn't for me. I told the school I needed to take a break for some me time, and after enough contemplation, opened my own shop. No regrets yet, except for the ridiculous amount of money I lost in school. I like the part where I enjoy going to work though...I'm sure you will too.
  10. It's not really the plastics I have a problem with, it's the carpet and leather on my steering wheel.
  11. I'm having a heck of a time cleaning the overspray out of my interior from my careless bodyshop, mostly in the carpet and grant steering wheel. I let some tuff stuff soak in the carpet and on the wheel for a bit, and although it helped, after everything dried the carpet is still a bit hazy looking. This carpet was brand new from MSA before I dropped the zx off at the body shop (4.5 years ago) so age and sun fade isn't a problem with it. The steering wheel came from MSA and although the center and spokes cleaned up, I'm not having any luck with the leather portion of the wheel where I grip. Even acrysol wasn't of any assistance. I may try using a little plastic bristle brush, but figured I'd run it by here first. I guess as a last resort I could have it steam cleaned, but the lowest price I found at least $100 and since the zx is immobile right now, I'd have to rip it all out again. So any help would be appreciated...the overspray is everywhere and really frustrating.
  12. My memory is horrible on small details...my mistake.
  13. I vaguely recall it being discussed before - I don't think he's a member but someone on here knew about his z. All I remember is they said it has a built Grand National engine. Pretty beast setup of a Z.
  14. I went with that spoiler on my widebody project (as seen in avatar), and definitely glad I chose it. The only thing I did different was have it cut into 3 pieces so it could be molded. This is the newest picture I have of it, but it's over a year old now so I'll try to get a better one. It's in a body shop 3 hours away from where I live and supposedly it's painted already so hopefully I'll be able to get some free time soon to update the pics.
  15. FWIW, I bought a pair of electric cutouts to run on my '82 with a v8 and dual exhaust. I didn't have enough ground clearance to mount them, there was nowhere for me to tuck them. But then again that one sits pretty low.
  16. Oh and can you send pictures of everything?
  17. If your manual a/c / heater unit is everything I need to swap my '82 zxt over from auto climate, then I'll take it. It's up to you if you want to ship the windshield or not - I have no clue how much something like that would cost, so you could at least get a quote on it for starters (if you're seriously interested).
  18. Looking for a crack/chip/scratch free windshield from a 280zx turbo, would prefer local but if you feel confident enough to remove and ship it, I'm game. Also trying to find a manual hvac setup for the 280zx - head unit, cable linkages, etc. Basically everything I need to convert an auto to manual.
  19. Go with beta and you won't be disappointed.
  20. It was roughly $180 for the skin, $200 for shipping, and $40 for packaging.
  21. Nullbound you are THE MAN!!! Just came in the other day! Ordered this from Rob, the owner at Fiber Concepts. Super super cool guy, helped me out with this by just sending me the skin of the hood for a fraction of the price. The piece looks great, not wavy or anything. I wouldn't hesitate to order from him again.
  22. Not my fav, but the first one that popped in my head was: *Language warning* (Not like this thread is gonna last long anyways)
  23. Man, don't know how I missed that, I'll see if I can place the order today. Great detective work!
